Thank you! Your response was comforting. I don't want to get in trouble for not being on a particular schedule according to the processing but at the same time, unlike most people, we aren't trying to rush the visa asap. We would like to time it all right so the validity holds through the month of May. We started early expecting an average processing time of 8 months but now it looks like it could be as quick as 5 months time to have a visa in hand.

The NOA2, makes it sound scary but realistically, if we have had the petition approved and we provide all necessary documents for health, financial security, criminal history, etc, then she should not have difficulties going through the interview quickly and being approved forna visa right? Is it incorrect of me to assume that the hardest part of the visa process is really filing and getting approval for the petition?

I think the interview shouldn't be difficult! I am not too worried about it at all. For me getting NOA2 was more stressful, though it came so fast! You need to check all the necessary paperwork that she has to bring with her for the interview (it varies a little bit in different embassies) and she should be ready to tell the story of how you meet once again. If she has everything on hand, the visa is in the pocket! Well at least I hope so!

No need to worry! The longest part is done. The waiting game is nearly over and then it will be up to you when to schedule the medical and the interview itself. Everything is valid for quite a long time, I don't think you will have any problems with May.

For us it is a bit different, because we want to be together as soon as possible and I so hope that NVC will give us a number fast!

Good luck to all of us!

Question: do people actually get notifications at like 7:00PM? Asking because I've seen a couple say things like "just got our approval" and it's at that time. I lose home about getting our NOA2 at 4:30 everyday. Can I keep them up longer??

I'm getting pretty anxious/annoyed now. It's been "received" since the 4th of September :/ the case right before mine got approved yesterday! And cases up to 100 after mine have been approved.

I read here that some got their NOA2 or saw that their approved around midnight Eastern Standard Time (US). I see approvals already for NOA1 dated after Sept 15th. Let's not lose hope. As far as I know, once our case is received, it's already assigned to an adjudicator. Maybe ours is just on leave.

I got my NOA2 Hard Copy in mail today. It does say what the previous person had posted about the time frame. The next step is notification of when the petition has been sent on to the Jamaican Embassy. Keep the faith all.... We are in this together. Blessings.

Hello I had a question regarding noa1. What could cause a long delay regarding waiting to receive the noa1? I see some people get on time and others waiting a while? Any insight on this?

It can be a USCIS problem in sending it, or couriers problems.

I am beyond excited that I get to visit my fiance in 2 weeks. But, as I am reading through posts here in VJ, I see that unfortunately some people have not seen their loved one in years. :(

When was the last time you've seen your loved one?

I'm really lucky, my fiancé and I both lived in Australia together until just 5 weeks ago! His visa ran out, and he's back in the US now :(
