Updates to Forms I-864, I-864A, I-864EZ and I-864W

Today, USCIS published updates to the following forms:

• I-864, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Act,
• I-864A, Contract Between Sponsor and Household Member
• I-864EZ, Affidavit of Support Under Section 213A of the Act
• I-864W, Intending Immigrant's Affidavit of Support Exemption

Each updated form is a new edition dated 07/02/15. (Starting 09/06/15, USCIS will only accept the 07/02/15 edition. Until then, you can use the 03/22/13 edition.) The edition date can be found at the bottom of the page on the Form and Instructions.

In addition, we have updated the corresponding I-864 Form and Barcode Requirements.

****Correction: In an email issued earlier today, we stated that starting 09/06/15, USCIS will only accept the 07/02/15 editions, and until that date, we would continue to accept the 03/22/13 editions of the forms listed above. In fact, we will continue to accept the 03/22/13 editions until 10/05/15. Starting 10/06/15, USCIS will only accept the 07/02/15 editions.

The edition date can be found at the bottom of the page on the Form and Instructions.

I think I need to update mine for the interview.. dang I had it all nice and neat.. well atleast im doing the EZ one .. the simplest one so no biggie.. thanks for the heads up!!

I have a question regarding question 11. in the newer version....

what does ' Additional Information" mean ....is it the information for the preparer if other tha the petitioner or sumthg else...???

Which page no and part number and item number it asks for...Any suggestions????

Look at this, apparently they changed the timeframe and allow 1 more month until October!

Good for hopefully upcoming interview in September 2015... so no (possibly) updated form needed for me...!

We received a checklist from NVC which is a minor mistake in I-864w for my son. Is it ok if we send the older edition? Or i have to filled the new one? Thank you.

I just mailed in our package to the NVC with the older form this morning. Will we have to submit the newer form for the interview?

Finally starting to feel like this process is moving right along. I have a question, my info has been scanned into the system @ NVC as of today. So, from looking at other peoples Timelines, would it be a rough estimate to say I could expect my interview in approx. 3 months from now? I was hoping it would be before the snow flies....ye gadz, flying in to Montreal in the winter can be bizarre, delays, etc., etc.

My interview is next week in Montreal (Finally!). Apparently I found out I need a copy of I864 along with my husband's tax reports. I have tax paperwork but it seems like no I864. Would we be facing any delays even thought we submitted everything online?

So I've filled in the i-864 I downloaded from the USCIS site but I don't see a barcode on the bottom . . . am I misunderstanding what this is supposed to be? Or is it because I'm using a mac?

please can anyone advise if I can carry photocopy of tax transcripts to interview or do I need to order another one from IRS since the one I already ordered we submitted to NVC.

Hello VJ'ers!

I have a question regarding the I-864 Affidavit of support. Ive been reading many posts and information online about this form and that the NVC will require it before sending the packet to the embassy for the interview to be completed. My Fiance and I have done all the steps necessary for the I-29F and have received the letter from the embassy with his interview date! However, I have not received anything from the NVC about completing the I-864, nor was it asked for in the letter from the embassy in Paris. I have downloaded the form and have completed it. I will be meeting my Fiance in Paris for his interview and will of course have all of the documentation we have received thus far. Will the consular officer ask for the form during the interview or will the NVC ask for it at a later time? I'm so confused!!
