I have a cr-1 visa, i arrived the states 3 weeks ago and I haven't gotten my SSN and GC even though I clicked YES on the ds-260 form online. I paid the $165 immigrant fee 2months before I flew into the states and my elis status has not changed since I paid the fee. How can I contact uscis about the elis problem? At the point of entry the immigration officer told me I would receive my GC in the mail within 3 weeks but this didn't happen and my elis status has not changed and the dates remained the same as when I paid the $165 immigrant fee. Please help me!

You should go to the nearest SSA office and apply for the SSN. Bring your passport, birth and marriage certificates.

As for the GC, usually it takes longer than 3 weeks to get it so be patient.

~~ moved to general immigration with other like topics from IR1/CR1 process and procedures~~

It takes 1-3 months normally to get the hard copy green card. Please search this forum for like topics. Follow the other advice and get your SSN yourself. More often than not people have to get their SSN themselves.

My Elis status didn't change since I paid the fee. Is this normal?

Paying the fee doesn't make the status change I am sure you got receipt conformation. What activates the status is your POE and its just been 3 weeks. Calling USCIS is futile. It's just been 3 weeks. Please give them time to process your application. I am sure it will change to Optimize soon.Welcome to America.

Thanks so much @dwheels. When I paid the immigrant fee, it changed to optimized immediately, this was before I flew into the states. My Elis status has been in optimized mode since the day I paid the $165 immigrant fee. Isn't this strange? I tried using my receipt number to check my status on uscis website but it says invalid and error messages. The dates on my Elis account have not changed either. Isnt this weird?

The SSA website says if you do not get your card in three weeks, you should contact them. We had to do this. The lady struggled a bit finding Moustafa in the system, but she was persistent and was able to get the card generated and sent to us within the week.

The green card came right around 6 weeks...not a big deal because your visa is a temporary GC for up to one year.

My husband didn't get a SS card even after ticking the box on his ds260, he had to go to local SS office and apply on his own. No idea why. It took him 6 weeks to get his green card. Patience is a virtue and welcome to the US.
