I have just called- it's official - case complete with checklist scan date 03/23, so they move quite fast now.

Lady also said that they don't have delays at NVC with appointment scheduling, it only depends on each individual Embassy/Country. Once interview will be scheduled I should receive another email with instructions (on medical and so on).

Is there another forum for those who wait for an interview? Can you please direct me to it?

Good luck to everyone who still waits for those two letters "CC", it will be fast now.

Hey guys, I think I'm freaking out for nothing, but I wanted to pass this by you first before I called up the NVC (ugh).

On April 13 I got my case number and IIN. When I asked the operator to take our emails he told me that he couldn't because our case was so freshly assigned that no changes could yet be made on it, and that I'd have to wait for the case to be updated in the system. I asked how long it would take, and he thought maybe a few days. After I got off the phone I immediately attempted to log in both to the payment portal and to the ceac site, and they both gave the following error message:

"Sign In Failed
The selected Case Number and Invoice Identification Number combination you entered do not match our records. Please try again or click on the Contact the NVC hyperlink if you have forgotten your Case Number or Invoice Identification Number."

I figured that this was because the file was still being inputted into the system even though the operator was able to see the case number and IIN on his computer. Does this make any sense? There's another VJer whose file was sent to the NVC on the same day as mine, and received her case number and IIN on the same day as I did, and she's been able to log in with no problem from what I've heard. I've been trying to log in a few times a day since then to identical results.

So, is this error because they're still updating my file to their systems, or because something is wrong with one of my numbers? I know sign in failures are usually a good thing, but I haven't even been able to sign on once. I attempted to google and search VJ about this problem, but each time the OP had been able to log on previously. Anyone else had the same thing happen to them?

Congratulations! However what the lady told you is ridiculous because NOBODY on VJ is getting interviews scheduled...regardless of country! It's so discouraging!! People have been waiting a month now since cc with no news on interview scheduled. There is a thread, May 2015 Interviews...does someone have the link??

@ Saylin how would we know that our ds261 was already reviewed? I filled up the ds261 on April 2, 2015 and aos still unpaid but will pay it this week. The NVC will review the ds261 after its paid?

You call up NVC to find out if the DS-261 has been reviewed. Or you'll know by the IV fee being invoiced.

And no, the DS-261 is reviewed independently of the AOS fee. The DS-261 is part of the IV track, not the AOS track.

Call NVC back up and confirm you have the correct case number and IIN.

we were going to put 2 as a number of ppl in the household in my petition and 3 in my daughters, that should be correct, right?!

assuming your hubby has no other dependents, sounds about right..... It was difficult for me to wrap my head around because really we are a household of 5 (me, hubby, three kids) but on my AOS we were 3 (him, me, his son), and on my daughters files we were a household of 4.... but going through the instructions and examples and everything time and time again...... everything has been sent off, scan date 03/12, and here I sit and wait....

Best wishes!!

Just an FYI, since today is the tax return deadline in the US, from now on, 2014 tax information will be required in the AOS package and 2014 is now considered the most recent tax year on the I-864 forms.

And for those with interviews coming up and may still be in this thread: it's more than likely that 2014 tax information will be needed at the time of the interview (if you didn't submit it at NVC), so bring that along with you.

Got off the phone with the NVC and I was able to give them our email addresses. The IIN had changed since I called on the 13th. Thanks Saylin!

They changed the IIN? Weird. Glad you got it sorted out though

Saylin, what about those who have an extentions for some reasons? should they also have their proof of extensions? please help with some recommendations...

Yes, if you filed for an extension, definitely send proof of that, otherwise NVC will issue a checklist asking for 2014 tax information.

Along with the proof, I also suggest writing on the cover letter about you filing for an extension, and then I suggest even typing up a letter on its own saying you filed for a tax extension. And you may want to take another step further and put a post-it note on the I-864 on the page where it asks for tax information and just write that you filed for an extension, and you've attached the letter in the package. You basically want to make sure the reviewing officer won't miss the fact that you filed for an extension, haha.

I just have a question : So last week I got a check list for my husbands Panama police certificate. He lived there for 1year however they do not mail tem if

you are not a resident, you must go in person or send family member on your behalf. I called NVC and spoke with a rep and explained this to her and she tells me to just write letter

explaining that which I did and also printed off what I found on line. see below . Just wondering if anyone else experienced this. Any input would be appreciated

Instructions

  • A Record Policivo can be obtained from the Departamento de Legalización y Autenticación del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores.
  • You must apply in person or send a representative on your behalf with a photocopy of the applicant’s identification document or, in the case of foreigners, with a photocopy of the applicant’s passport.
  • You or your representatives must complete the form provided by the Departamento de Legalización y Autenticación del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores on the day of the request and present a photocopy of your passport or Cédula.
  • The Departamento de Legalización y Autenticación del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores forwards the request to the Policía Técnica Judicial (PTJ).
  • Fiscal stamps, purchased from Banco Nacional, to pay the processing fee and legalization fee should be provided at the time of document collection.
