It sucks & it doesn't make sense but we just have to make peace with it and look ahead. I was telling my family tonight that when we first started this process and I heard mention of 9 months and thought "oh that's exaggerated- we'll never have to wait that long"...here we are & by the time James gets here it will be 9 months. I don't care what anyone says- that's a ridiculous amount of time to go through this process. I'm just trying to look forward and forget everything that's happened & continue to get through this process with new friends! ??

Especially when you see how fast a decently managed service center can get it done.

We found some peace once we accepted that it is what it is, albeit not within the time frame that we wanted. The ever-shifting goals through this process have made it harder and I blame the unreasonable length of time of living in a constant state of uncertainty and inability to plan ahead has caused me to react to things instead of responding.

On another note, I have spent a considerable amount of time trying to put together a guide, complete with screen shots, on how to pay the MRV fee but I cannot get the images to upload into the post, so I've copied it into a document and will look at it in the morning. I have a week left at work and it's been crazy to say the least.

Oh wow- is it really that difficult? We haven't even attempted it yet

It's not difficult. I'd read various posts in the part about issues with paying the fee, but it is exactly as set out in the very comprehensive instructions in the interview letter. The guide I posted is for reassurance more than anything else. People tend to relax more when they know what to expect.

Ironically we had issues with three cards being declined and I was woken at stupid o clock by the card company fraud unit. It was the nature of the transaction rather than the site, but if your bank is very vigilant you may want to be prepared to authorizr it with them.

I had to laugh just then Lee...James used that phrase "stupid o'clock all the time" haha. I'm starting to catch on to certain phrases ? That's also good to know because he's had a lot of problems with his stupid bank..when he was in America- even though he's told them several times he would be here- they blocked his card twice and had to go through the fraud thing.

Well that was a pleasant surprise this morning :) I haven't even got my NOA2 hardcopy yet, and this morning was an email telling me they had already sent the case off to the NVC yesterday. :dancing:

Awesome! You can look at our signatures to see what the recent turnaround time is at NVC. I was more excited that our petition was set free from TSC than I was about the approval. The nice thing is that despite the frequent attempts needed to get through, the NVC agents are such a pleasure to deal with. No muppets :D

Congratulations!! These next steps will seem like a breeze compared to what you've just gone through with TSC! This is a great group to be a part of so any help you need just ask ??

Lee when you get a chance- could you post what you're taking to your interview? Just to give us a reference. I know there's a list on Visa Journey but it would be helpful to see what you are taking as well ? Thanks!

Sure, no problem. My list is probably slightly different to the standard list, because I have a K2 and was previously married so disregard anything that is obviously not applicable to you.

Passports

Embassy appointment letter

DS 160 confirmation pages

Visa payment and courier confirmation

Police certificates (UK and foreign)

Birth certificates

Court certified, stamped and signed decree of divorce

Notarized letter of consent from birth father of the child

Affidavit of support

Pay stubs

W2 (copy)

Letter from Petitioner's employer

Letter from Petitioner's bank

Passport photos x 2 per applicant

Randomly selected proof of ongoing relationship (we talk on the phone about 4+ hours a day every day so my phone will provide anything needed there)

I think that is all I'm taking. Let me know if you spot any omissions :)
