Progress thread for TSC filers now between NVC and Interview Stage

It feels so weird and exciting to be starting a new phase of things now. How long after receiving the NOA2 hardcopy should I call up NVC? Two or three weeks? Or should I not bother to call them up at all, and just wait until he should get notice in the UK?

All in all I guess I'm just trying to find a rough estimate of when everything will finally be complete... and I know that's hard to say now. We are hoping for a September wedding and I hope this will be still doable.

Congratulations and welcome!

It seems to take about a week for TSC to get the petitions out to NVC, another week or so for a case number to be assigned and then they send it off to the embassy within a few days. It takes around 3 working days to get to the consulate.

You should have no problem with a September wedding.

We did push our progress as much as we could. There are some things you can't control and you just have to accept the randomness as part of the process, but even with those variables, our interview date is 2 months from our NOA2 date.

We managed to get caught up in the Easter weekend (Friday and Monday both holidays in the UK) and our interview date is going to be a week before another one at the end of the month, which means we will need to allow a bit more time for the visa to arrive. However, after this, there is a 'holiday drought' in the UK until September so you shouldn't encounter any delays due to holidays.

Yeah, that's why I keep checking up on you. I found the wait for the interview letter very difficult. It wasn't the waiting in itself, but more about the inability to have any feeling of control over our plans once again. It didn't really take them too long to assign a date for us now that I look at our signature. The medical results were received on April 15th and the letter was issued on April 21st.

Yeah exactly why I keep thinking and hoping ours will come soon. And that's very sweet, it's nice to be able to try and check up on each other. The waiting like you said is difficult simply because we are stuck. Can't plan anything. At least with a date we can plan our vacation and wedding date etc... Just wish they would come on! Was hoping it would be today so we might get the letter Saturday. lol

I've been looking at people's timeframes between medical & interview letters and I really feel like we should be getting our letters. I'm getting very impatient. Only because I'm getting worried how far into June our interview is going to be at this point. I'm trying to keep it together but I'm just over this separation.

I'm trying to keep it together but I'm just over this separation.

Preach it!

Remember to take your 'start date' guess from the date that the last thing was received by the embassy. For example, I didn't use the date I sent my readiness form because my medical results only arrived a few days after so I used that as my readiness trigger. They might do them in batches. It seems like a cluster of people get letters and then there is nothing for a while. I have wondered if we got lucky in that we got our date right at the end of a batch of interview assignments so it was sent out straight away with the batch. Just speculation and we will never know. All these things we play with in our minds in a desperate bid to stay sane

Me too :( I hate the separation , and unless someone has done it they can't understand how hard the distance is. Hoping we all get ours by first of next week at latest.

Yeah that's what i'm hoping to get lucky and still get a May one. But doubtful but we can be hopeful. And yes our medical results , based on the system update, was on 04/30/15 when they received so I've been counting from there. So really it's only been 5 business days, but I am still allowed to be impatient lol! :P

Yes. I must be a slow learner because it's taken nearly a year for me to accept that trying to explain to people who haven't had the experience can be more distressing than just dealing with what we are already going through. People gloss over it, thinking they are helping, but they are really just messing with their medical insurance

I'm hoping you all hear by tomorrow. At least then you don't have the two idle weekend days to sit and wait for Monday's mail.

According to the website status check:

  • The Immigrant Visa Unit is processing the Notification of Applicant's Readiness forms received on or before May 1

So, all your stuff was in before then. :)

I was thinking of making some honeymoon T shirts saying: We survived TSC. Got the scars to prove it.
