Unmarried On Maritial Status..... Why?

On every Paper of my Wife who is Lpr and i am still in Nepal, her maritial status is Single... Cant she write Married on every papers, her Greencard, Tax returns although she have Nepali married certificate... and if she is single how can she file i-130? i am alz confuse on this.

It sounds like your wife might be confuse, and thinks her status is single in the USA, since the marriage was in Nepal. You need to explain to her that her status is married, no matter where the marriage took place and that is what she needs to put on forms.

interview has already been scheduled and when she went to marriage registered office then they told her that i should appear there and sign, only then she can write Married on tax papers, company, and other.... i told her if she is single then how can she file i-130 for spouse and they accepted and after 22 months interview is scheduled...

where is she trying to register the marriage? if in the USA, then someone told her wrong. She does not have to register the marriage in The USA if you and her are legally married in Nepal then you are legally married here. She needs to put married on forms especially on the IRS tax forms

Unless of course you are talking about her W-2s and the like? She might have put down single misguidedly thinking it would get her the right amount of tax withholding with you out of the country.

She should file her taxes as married. There are ways to do this with you out of the country.

It sounds to me like she should be on VJ, rather than you, because it is sort of second hand information that seems to be getting kind of muddled.

what abt visa processing? She have wrote single in it aswell.... if she is single then why uscis and nvc accepted the case... i think m in great trouble in processing now.... lets see what happens after 9 days in interview.

1) First of all, please fill out your timeline, otherwise, it's confusing.

2) Did you guys get married in Nepal? When?

3) Did she file I-130? When?

4) When she filed, did she indicated she is single in immigration forms?

If so, that would be a big problem...as she is trying to petition a spouse.

5) Green card itself doesn't indicate whether she is single or married.

And when she got the green card, sounds like she was single.

we did court marriage on Jan 2013 and started process. my pd is 16th may, 2013 and on Sept, 2013 we again did marriage according to Nepali Culture.
