@SharksBelow - I just read what's happening with your case and I just want to say I'm sorry that you are going through this, I can imagine how hard it is. I hope that this issue gets resolved quickly, I'm sending lot's of positive energy your way!!

Thank you.

I believe your husband just got an inexperience person and once a supervisor reviews it will be fine. It does happen a second pair of eyes connects the dots.

So just hang in their. It will get resolved and hubby called by by end of week. Don;t make me fly down there and talk to them people now (I so wish).

It was me that interviewed.. not my husband.. but yes, I agree and hopefully that will happen.

Small update, I sent them an email asking them for clarification and explaining that he does not get a W2, and they responded with this:

"If your father-in-law has a 2013 W2 form he should scan and email that to our office. If he doesn't have either the 2013 or 2014, have him send in a dated letter explaining the reason he does not have one. Upon it's receipt the consular officer will review your case file further."

Are they actually *swearwording* mentally unhinged? HE DOESN'T GET OR HAVE W2 FOR ANY YEAR EVER. So we sent in a letter, explaining why, attaching Schedule C.

My husband also emailed his Congresswoman whose staffer replied saying they'd be happy to help. This is utterly unbelievable. NVC already approved all this stuff! Why are we in this position?! I just simply do not understand. This cannot be the only time someone who is self-employed has been a joint-sponsor.

I just cry all the time.

I am the beneficiary. My husband is the petitioning USC.

Congrats bro....

I hv been given 221g bcz my joint sponsor has sponsored other people in past years and asked me to submit a new joint sponsor.

CO asked only few questions to me...Who is petitioning u? What ur husband is doing? How did u meet? Date of marriage,is this a first marriage for both of us? Thats all. Taken an oath and ask from donestic violebce...what is it? Explained me about my rights in US. Took fingerprints and taken all docs n even medical report from me. But returned my passport with 221g and told me,everything is fine with your case n you need to submit new sponsor through drop box along with passport then visa will b issued. I told,i have joint sponsor then he replued your joint sponsor has given sponsor to many people and his responsibilities rest is up to the time, they all get citizenship. So its not eligible.

If this is true, how NVC has approved my AOS?

So, I had my biometrics appointment on 17th march , 4 pm at bombay. It hardly took more than 5 minutes. But the waiting was so long, You need biometrics appointment letter, interview letter, ds260 confirmation copy , your original passport and 2 photos 2x2 size with white background. Just like you do at POE in usa, Place four fingers of each hand on scanner , one after another and then both the thumb together. Give your 2 passport size photos (2x2). also get your photo taken from canon dslr. lol. It is so hot there , when you are waiting in line , there is no shade outside.

Next day interview at 7:30 am, I knew about the prohibited things, so I had no coins or any digital items with me, did not take wallet inside but kept rupees notes in my pocket, I had 2 harmonium files along with a big wedding album. It was hard to carry everything but somehow I managed. The file structure was

1 . black harmonium file for all the documents except proof of relationship.

pocket 1. interview letter

pocket 2. passport

pocket 3. pcc & marriage certificate

pocket 4. birth certificate

pocket 5. medical report and vaccination records

pocket 6. tax return 1 ( my wife's tax return, 2012, 13 , 14) , w-2s , paystubs of last 2 months)

pocket 7 tax return 2( my tax return of 2012,13,14 from usa and india)

pocket 8 education degrees , old i-20s from my student visa

pocket 9 employment details (offer letters, experience letters, resignation letter)

pocket 10 forms , print of of i-130 , ds 260 , g-325a

pocket 11 receipts i-797s of my work permits from usa

pocket 12 Misc , ( docs related to my work permit of usa, copy of my usa driving license, ssn card)

you dont need to take all the things from above, its case specific.

2 . blue harmonium file for proof of relationship.

pocket 1. photos

pocket 2. marriage invitation cards

pocket 3. facebook updates

pocket 4. emails and chats

pocket 5. oovoo logs ( video call logs)

pocket 6. whatsapp messages

pocket 7 tickets of trips we took to see each other

pocket 8 bank accounts

pocket 9 phone bills

pocket 10 gift receipts

pocket 11 greeting cards we sent to each other

pocket 12 hotel bills from the trip we took together.

Dont worry if you dont have so many things for proof of relationship. you can collect what you have and take to the interview.

So , first i was called by an Indian officer. smiling young man. I said hi and all, then

he: is this first marriage for both of you?

me: answered

he: what's your birth date?

me: answered

he: Have you ever visited any other countries?

me: answered.

he: how long was your stay in canada and on which visa you were in usa?

me: answered

he: give me your old passport.

he checked old visa stamps.

he: when did you come back from USA?

me: answered

he: here are your documents which you submitted to NVC, we dont need any more documents from you.

me: I have the latest tax return from 2014.

he: oh that's good. please give it.

I was taking it out and he saw 2014 w-2. he also asked for it.

He gave me domestic violence paper and told me to read it and he said officer may ask you questions related to this.

After long wait, I was called by american visa officer. Smiling man with age around 45-50.

me: hello, how are you ?

he: I am fine , how about yourself? (he started typing) and asked so your wife is in PA?

me: yes

he: is she an engineer?

me : yes

he: so you were in USA for studies . from which college you finished engineering

me: answered

he: how was the college?

me: it was very good. it is located in newark downtown. campus has taco bell inside it and I love taco bell(as soon as he heard taco bell, he smiled and stopped typing , was looking at me). I was smiling .

he said okay , then started typing again

he: so is it love marriage or arranged?

me: answered ( he was not looking at me at all)

typing typing more typing....

he: here is the paper , you will have to pay $165 for green card fee. you are all set.

me: Thank you so much , have a nice day.

I wish good luck to all the people who are waiting for an interview.

BTW, later in the evening , status was " Issued".

My interview is on 6th April.

Hubby had his medical yesterday and has his interview Monday. They told him he can't pick up the results until the 31st! What!? Our case was expedited once we had our CC so he couldn't make the medical 10 days beforehand and yesterday was the only time they could get him in. Dwheels76 what happens in cases like this is he can't take the medical to the interview? They told him to take the receipt they gave him to prove he went. I emailed the embassy to see if they can rush his results. One of my fellow Jamaican's had her medical Monday and can pick up her results tomorrow so I don't understand why they are making us wait til the 31st?!

When you submitted your AOS, did you submit the schedules or tax transcripts?

Okay just a pet peeve of mine but why are people here who have case complete asking questions about how long this and that and you haven't bothered to fill out the form to be added to the spreadsheet. Everyone is to be reading the 1st Post there you see instructions to fill out the form and other information.

The data we collect from everyone is only as good as those who bother to report. I do my best and yes I see you chatting and add you but I shouldn't have to be doing all the work and run you down and look up your timeline a (that's if you bothered to have one) and add you to the spreadsheet. Many have no country flag no Case complete date but yet you come and ask questions.

Anyway Welcome to the Group And congratulations on your Case Complete.

Interview getting folk this does not apply to you. If you are already on the list I already keep up with you You have enough on your plate. Plus I love updating on scheduling week. :goofy:

Thank you.

Oh okay. Just a note for everyone. NVC doesn't approve anything this is why so many get jammed up at embassy. All NVC is is a document intake facility. They are only there to make sure all documents are there and that you make the amount at or above guidelines.

Many believe because they got past NVC they are okay and get denied at embassy. NVC merely "ACCEPTS". They do not "approve". I know this is a Big problem at my embassy Lagos. So many on VJ keep saying "current salary is all they care about". Nope not at Lagos they want previous and current above the line. NVC could care less. The CO has final authority on your AOS package.

So yes I would spell it out if you have to have an accountant write up a nice writeup on what is self employed do so. Someone at that embasy is very confused so spell it out for them and don;t stop until they say No mas! :goofy:

NVC didn't approve your AOS. Your sponsor might make enough to satisfy the requirement but it could be that its just too many people and the CO doesn't feel comfortable with that sponsor. I know someone who has 21 on his list and they said he can;t do anymore and he is a millionaire but he is also in his 80's what if he dies. The immigrant is screwed.
