It's been over 2 weeks since receiving our NOA2, and so I'm trying to contact NVC to see what the status is (of sending package to Bangkok embassy).

I used their website to send an email/message to them - no reply (it's been 4 days).

I've been trying to call them (for 4 days) and all I get is a message saying "Due to high call volume, NVC is too busy. Please call back later".

Seriously!??

Anyone else having trouble contacting NVC? Is this normal?

THanks

You just have to be persistent and keep calling. If you get a busy signal, immediately hang up and try again. I have dialed the NVC over 50 times in 2 minutes before I was able to get through.

They was close for most of the day if not all day yesterday. I call as soon as they was open. Me and some other members waited on hold for 2 hours before the NVC posted on their website they was close. They did not have a message on phone saying they was close just the usually stuff you hear when you call.

Last couple of weeks they have been close on some days due to the weather. They need a better way of letting people know they are close due to the weather.

Yes- normal, although it might be worse than usual right now due to the crazy storms New England has been getting the past month or so.

They take a month or so to reply to e-mails, so don't plan on getting a response that way.

I finally got a hold of them yesterday after two days it only took a few hundred calls to get through. The lady asked me when I received my NOA2 and I told her January 30th and she scoffed and said it will take 5-7 weeks before they see it. I have a bluetooth ear piece for my phone so it is easier to make the several hundred calls to them, just hit the recall button on the earpiece. Good luck, let me know if you get through and what they say.

Hi,

I also tried calling them for about a week straight and rec'd the same recording.

I called them one morning at exactly 6:59am because they open at 7am.

I FINALLY got through, was on hold for about 15 minutes before I spoke to someone.

Fortunately found out that our package had been rec'd and was already forwarded to the US Consulate in Peru.

So I recommend you calling right before they open. *7am - 11pm monday through friday I believe their hours of operation are.

Good Luck

I also was scolded the 1st time I called. I didn't call again for 6 days, but when I did then, I got the info I seeked.

I included my original post about that here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/509855-tsc-i-129f-noa2/page-2#entry7215007

Thanks for all the info.

I finally got through after many redials. The recording says only to call them if it's been 35 days since the NOA2. Since it's only been about 20 days for me I will wait and call again later. Plus someone said they have been closed due to weather so I don't mind giving them more time.

We used the California USCIS and our package was approved in just a few short works (including an RFE) so I feel I am already doing fine. My fiancee in Thailand can't come until June anyway because she teaches at a university and the classes don't end until late May. We have plenty of time.
