I just received a text message that my case has been updated and I called USCIS and the system said I would receive an I 797. Is this an RFE or NOA2?

suggest you , instead, make an online account at CRIS, then add the receipt # into the casefile tracking thingie,

then check the status online, using a PC.

Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Could be either. The 797 the standard notification form.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

So, I filed in early July and received a text and e-mail this morning as well. I logged into my account on the website, and the update said the following:

On July 3, 2014, we received your Form I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), Receipt Number SRC*********, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your receipt notice by August 2, 2014, please call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

The e-mail i received said the same thing. I literally got this today...seems a little late unless they either sent the wrong notification(s) out or are having problems with notifications today. Any thoughts?

I got a similar email today. When I checked USCIS I was able to enter my case number without getting the error that's been happening since the redesign. No progress on the status though. I have a feeling this is related to getting accounts into the redesigned website, not processing applications. But I could be wrong, we're all in the dark here!

they did an update to the site on Sunday. Lots of people are getting text messages that an update has been made but it was really just the system glitches being worked out. Its not wrong, its just not a new update. Now you know the text messaging works and you will get a notification when your case gets approved.

Just wanted to chime in that I received the same notice today (and 6 text message updates!). I got excited, but when I logged on, I didn't see any changes.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Same here! I was guessing that must be the thing. They've finally figured out the website screw ups, perhaps. I filed in September and got my NOA1 then but today I got a text and when I check the website it just says the same thing it said when they first sent an NOA. So no progress with my particular case, probably, but progress with their website issues it seems.

ROC:

11/14/17 I-751 Package mailed (Vermont)

11/15/17 Package delivered

11/17/17 NOA1 date

11/25/17 NOA1 received in mail

 

K1 Visa process:

9/11/14 I-129F Packet Received by USCIS
9/15/14 NOA1 (text)
9/16/14 Status Update: Alien Registration # Changed
5/11/15 NOA2 (8:30 pm text, 238 days since NOA1)

6/09/15 Consulate Received (had to call embassy to check)
6/12/15 Packet Received
6/18/15 Packet Completed (had to call/visit embassy to schedule interview)
7/09/15 Interview Completed- APPROVED!! (after delay for US system errors, and rescheduling/postponing 3 times)

7/16/15 Visa In Hand (told to "come back tomorrow" first two times they said it would be ready)

7/18/15 POE Washington, D.C.

8/1/15 Legally Married
8/13/15 Filed for AOJ (also EAD and Travel)

8/20/15 NOA1 for all 3 filings

9/08/15 Bio Appt

9/26/15 Wedding Ceremony!

10/16/15 EAD and AP Approved

10/23/15 EAD Card Received

11/23/15 AOS Approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (no interview, no warning- completely unexpected, but so exciting)
