OP, you have a zero chance of getting what ever the term you want to use to identify them, to the USA through K-1.,.,..,without meeting face to face.,,.,.,period!

The sickness, doctor's notes, none of that will do any good, a waste of time!

I have come across it a couple of times, so never say never. One was a bit of a scam as well.

I'm sorry you feel so strongly about someone else's life, but there's no need to be judgmental about this. The OP has a long road ahead of her as it is, so why not let life play out the way it will? This is an immigration forum, so naturally people come here to ask about immigration related questions, not relationship ones.

My wife and I knew each other for a year before we met in person and yet she still had her family possy surrounding her the first time we met.

Back to the subject,

Meeting in person is one of the requirements, being engaged is one of the requirements too.

So far the man is the boyfriend, we don't know if he actually has any intentions of marrying the OP. If he actually wants to sponsor her and her boy he will do what it takes, period. The K1 process starts with the petitioner.

So far OP seems to need this done as soon as possible, so she could as well just ask the USC if he would be willing to get her and her son a green card and to please start applying for the waiver and filling the applications as soon as possible because she is in a hurry.

I've seen a few people post stories similar to this and I've just been curious. If your fiance can't travel to visit you then how will he get to the US to get married? If the hardship part is the long plane ride then it will still be difficult for him to get here with a visa right? I get it if it's the USC who can't travel but your fiance has to get here some way or another. What if he gets the visa a doctor says he still can't travel that long on a plane?

Just make sure you know exactly what you are getting into.

I believe in this case, she would be the one traveling as her fiancé is the one in the US. It's much easier for a USC to visit the Philippines than it is for her to visit the US, but in this case, she will have to move forward with a tourist visa anyway because she won't have enough evidence to qualify for a waiver.

Ah okay that makes more sense then. And yep yep I know how it is trying to get a visa in some countries. It's much more difficult than a USC getting a visa to travel.

The USC (not yet the fiance) is the one who can't travel so she won't have an issue flying to the US when and if a Visa is issued.

Tourist visa application for the OP it is. I'd imagine that the waiver would be very hard to obtain given they've literally only just met and maybe given time the USC will be able to travel. In addition the OP has not yet attempted to visit the US. I do sympathize with couples when the USC can't travel and the beneficiary is in a country where it's harder to visit the US.

I remember several similar threads and there is an inclination to assume this one has similar details.

The USC were on disability, severe medical issues etc etc. Seemed more a caregiver situation.

Now all that has been said is that he can not temporarily travel, so he may well be in a total different situation to my minds eye image.

As they say ####### in ####### out and it is so easy to make invalid assumptions based on essentially profiling.
