You've asked this before luckyef, and why ask it in the work visa section?

I don't doubt that you love your wife. But if it is unusual for Nigerian men to marry older women and goes against local custom or religious practices you will really have to prove to CO that your relationship is genuine. The fact that you are coming from Nigeria (often referred to as a high fraud country) you have an uphill battle. My suggestion is if your spouse can come to and attend the interview with you that might be helpful. (Not sure if Nigeria allows spouse in to interview) however many have suggested that spouse even being outside the embassy and you bringing in her passport to prove she is there is helpful. Hopefully your wife has visited you two or three times before your interview. Take photos. Good luck and God Bless you both.

Someone from Nigeria, or who has dealt with this high fraud consulate, will correct me if I am wrong but I do believe it is uncommon for Nigerian men to marry much older women, especially those not able to bear children (making no assumptions)

good luck

As a Nigerian myself, I can never marry someone who is 51 years old and back in Nigeria it is impossible to see a 34 years old marrying a 51 years old woman, no family in Nigeria will accept it. My wife is 2 years older than me, and still it took a lot before my family could accept her. I'm not saying you do not love her but honestly and truthfully, it is very strange. but i will suggest that you ask your woman to come for the interview and even if they do not allow her in , at east you can have her passport with you in other to let the CO know that she is right there with you. There is a Nigerian guy i know on VJ who had his interview in lagos, the wife is 46 years and the guy is 28 years old and they were approved. so since your relationship is genuine, you don't have to be afraid, go for it and your visa will be approved

I am not sure how uncommon this is, I have seen many similar threads.

Just a big hunch...given the age difference and Nigerian fraud factor,

I think there is a high risk of denial.

These immigration officials are pretty well experienced to sniff out

those that love their fiancee vs. simply loving to come to USA at all cost.

Good luck...

We had our interview in Dakar as well, and we both attended the interview and were able to answer questions together. We had almost the same age difference (woman being older), but I think the interviewer could see the easy chemistry between us, and we had no problem. I would recommend her attending the interview with you. Good luck!
