Still haven't received NOA1 for K1 visa after a month...

Hello,

My fiancé submitted the K1 packet on the 5th September and so far we haven't heard anything. Is this normal? I thought that he would have had a letter or something by now? I've been reading online and some people have said that they even got a text message. Am I being too anxious?

Advice appreciated.

Thanks!

J

We got out NOA1 just like 6days after we sent our package,

My fiancé got an email when the lockbox had it and then a few days after we received another email the NOA1 (still waiting for hard copy but. It's been about a week from last email now)

damn yeah something must be up with ours then :(

we didn't do the g-1145, that wasn't in the check list we were following...eek. Is it just to get text/email alerts or could our application get sent back for not having it?

He says that he did pay for tracking on it... but he hasn't checked the number yet to see if/when it was delivered. I'm so anxious I wish I could check myself.

The visa fee has not been taken out of his account either, has yours?

How long ago did you submit your packet? We definitely haven't had the hard copy of the letter and the money has not been charged from his account. It looks as though we missed the form that does email/text alerts :(

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

The check was converted to an electronic withdrawal and taken out before the NOA1 notice. The g-1145 is just so you get email and/or txt messages. Have him check the tracking number and call as suggested above.

Take it from someone who's been there - no NOA1 and check not cashed in a months is a very bad sign. Had that thing happened to us, my honey was calling them for 2 months twice a week and listening to 'yes, it's Ok, you should hear something in a few days' and such, and then it was 'um... we don't have it'. And we had to refile.

if theres anything USCIS is fast at its cashing our checks. :) so If its been a month and your check haven't posted then something is definitely wrong. they usually cash our checks as soon as they receive the petition.

USCIS BE LIKE.......WE ARE WORKING AS FAST AS WE CAN GUYS!

My check was also cashed within a couple of days so you are well beyond the time to check what happened. If he paid for tracking, he needs to check to see if it was received or at least give you the number so you can check. If it was delivered, then call TSC (that is the center that will handle your petition) and have them start checking backwards to the lock box and find it. If it was never delivered, have him stop payment on the check and refile as soon as possible.

Good luck.

Did you check if the package was delivered to USCIS via USPS tracking site or something similar? Mine took about weeks till I heard something from USCIS.....and I was soooooooooooooooo worried why there was no NOA1 news for so long! And guess what happened to us? My fiance (petitioner) forgot to sign some documents. (My gosh lol) The cheque was not cashed at all and it came back together with the package to his home, haha. I could not believe he missed his signature! But it was a chance for us to double triple check everything was in order. After re-sending the package to USCIS, soon after few days we received our NOA1. Hopefully yours will be fine!
