Consulate Review: Sweden
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : June 12, 2015
Embassy Review : When i got to the embassy (got there at 8am and was schedualed for 8.30am)i stood in line for approx 5minutes and then i was asked to show my passport in a window, when entering you will need to go through an "Airport scan", you will not be allowed to bring phone or other Electronics with you in to the interview building.

Walking up to the building and when entering one man in uniform asked me if i was there for the K1 visa and he told me to walk over to Window G.
At the window one lady took my passport and told me to sit and wait a Little.
Then my name was called up again and a Swedish man asked for all the documents. I had it all very well organized in a folder and could hand Everything over easy, at last he asked for some evidence of relationship and i handed over a plastic bag with my fiances last trip to visit me and also a plastic bag with photots from that trip. He then asked how we met and if i had read the phapmlet about domestic violence in the states and since i had and also had it with me in my folder i didnt need to read it again. Was asked to sit down and wait for my name to be called.

Sat for probably 20minutes or so Before my name was called up.
First i was asked to read the "oath" and i could choose if i wanted to read the Swedish or English version (this is glueed up against the window)

He then asked me how we met, why did i decide to meet with him, at what time did i start to Think about him as a husband, where did we go for our first dates and why i wanted to marry him.
He asked about wedding plans, where he worked and if i had met his parents, where did he propose to me, he asked if i had any photos from the time that i had been in the states (and as i turn to pick them up he goes; haha.. i know you have plenty ) and he also asked about my previous visa denials and why i was denied, and he at the very last asked why i didnt tell the interview lady about my bf at that time.

I was so nervous i couldnt Think straight, couldnt remember the name of my fiances work and simply told him what position he had and that he recently chan ged job. The more the interview Went on the more Confident i got and seemed to calm down more and more as we talked.
The person interviewing me was very nice and at the end he said: well i Think you and i are done with this interview, we have all the necessary documetns for you to qualify for the visa. It will take about 14 business Days Before it gets delivered to you.
Happy as i was (and relieved it was finally over) i clapped my hands and said: yeyyy i can now go home and really plan my wedding!! and he said, yes, have a nice day

I spent about one hour at the embassy in total, very easy and good experience.

My body felt a thousand times lighter as i walked out and i had the biggest smile on my face and just couldnt keep myself from not running to tell my mom about it and then text my fiance!
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
