to those september filers still waiting, keep the faith

I also was trying to monitor files with case numbers around ours to see if there was any movement

our case number is src14904356xx

so I was following about 50 k1 visas with numbers between src1490435400 and src1490435700

as we all know the approvals are not sequential they jump all over the place, but at least if your number is within this range, it may encourage you that ours was in that range and they hopefully are working on yours too and your approval is coming soon too!

Boy.. Really? Mine is SRC14904222XX , over "100" before that estimate. They really didn't fancy my petition all too much, did they? I don't recall using Comic-Sans font in the letter of intent.. Hm, what could it be?

K-1 Visa Timeline

Petition was sent to Texas Service Center --- 08/24/14

NOA1 received --- 09/10/14

Predicted arrival of NOA2 --- 04/14/15

NOA 2 received --- 06/02/15

Hello All September Filers ,

What is the next step after receiving your the approval ?

I'm not 100% sure as I'm not quite there yet, but there is a thread that has been started for people in this group once they get their NOA2 to continue the journey together - it's here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/543436-noa2-approval-september-2014-filers-tsc/

I'm sure you can get some info there from fellow Sept. TSC'ers.

Wonder what kind of system they go through. I've been monitoring the 500 prior to mine, and they are all petitions that were received on September 11th.

The majority of those won't be K1 visas though, so I'm not sure how useful that is.

Yep. I think out of the 500 I've glanced over, only 16-20 are I-129F

I'd be seriously surprised if there was some pattern. As I've mentioned before....my congressman's office informed me that the reason they don't get approved in order is because the background checks don't come back back in order since some take longer than others. They use various services for the background check since there is also a check on the beneficiary.

One pattern I think might exist is that some countries background checks might come in, in guessable durations. But you won't find that out based on the SRC number.

As far as I understand the I129F process, "background checks" refer to the petitioner. USCIS does not seem to have a mechanism to check background of the beneficiary (that's why beneficiary has to get the police clearance, I suppose).

From what I read, USCIS checks:

- Lack of convictions for crimes against children and otherwise violent crimes by petitioner

- Previous marriage-based sponsorship

Of these, number 2 should take all of 5 minutes (this information should be handy in USCIS databases). The former might take a bit longer, especially if petitioner lived in a number of jurisdictions. That said, I suspect that "background checks" are just something they give as justification for the "service" we get.

Right, but I'm just going on what the congressman's office said. That the beneficiary also gets a background check at this stage. And that they use multiple services. It also would explain the difference in timing. He's got no reason to lie about the process.

When was the last time anyone here trusted USCIS's information anyways?

Here's hoping that there are a lot of approvals tonight! I was kinda disappointed with last night's numbers...

BTW, Elena did indeed give birth today. 7.5 lbs of baby boy! He came much, much faster than the doctor had projected. Headin' out tomorrow.

Anyway, I'll still be here monitoring and in support of y'all who are still waiting. Praying for you; know it's of little consolation, but ...

Congratulations to you and Elena!!
