Hi Saylin, Could you please clarify this for me............

In my I864 under Part 7 Use of Assets to supplement income, I filled the 7.1 bank account balance question even though my wife does not meet the income requirements. We just wanted to let them know that she has a bank account with a small amount in it. We have a joint sponsor who meets the financial requirements and has provided all the necessary documents.

I included a letter from the bank where my wife holds an account stating her name, address, account details and checking account balance.... However I did not include any bank statements and still believe the bank letter would suffice to prove that she just holds an account since she does not qualify to sponsor me.... Is my understanding correct?

As I said of the other person, if you have a joint sponsor, there's zero reason to fill out the assets section, unless you're using that to qualify in conjunction with a joint sponsor. But that doesn't sound like the case. Whether a bank letter will be sufficient, I don't know. You'll have to wait and see what NVC says when they review it.

However I did not include any bank statements and still believe the bank letter would suffice to prove that she just holds an account with some money in it.... In her signed letter to NVC she has clearly stated that she understands that she will not be able to meet the financial requirements since she is not employed and hence has opted for a willing joint sponsor...

Do you think NVC might request for any other document since we filled the bank account balance question? Could you please clarify....

Thank you, Solenta! I´m not getting my hopes up, since like you and others have said, it´s almost unheard of. Supervisor Sue told me that an expedite request is my only hope for presenting my AOS checklist document at the interview instead of waiting til the end of September for it to be reviewed at NVC. I figured it´s worth a shot. I hope things move along soon for your case!

Thank you sweet heart, you never know it just might work I'll keep you in my prayers for this to work out. :)(F) (L) (F) . Did you talk to a Supervisor they say Silvia is a good one to talk to, it's worth a try. It's silly not to let you take AOS checklist to the interview.

Saylin,

I have filled out a new AOS this time I put that area with "N/A" as told by two reps to do. furthermore, one said all you need is a letter saying you don't want them to use supplemental income. I said I'm going to be safe so I have a letter and the form completed again. AND I'm still going to send bank statements.

Now is this fine? Or is changing that part of The AOS and opting out of supplement income when initially I put I wanted to, going to get me hit with another checklist?

See, I've been wondering about that.... the person that has been posting in here the last week or two with really terrible advice.... are they just trying to create chaos?? Do they think their stuff will be reviewed faster if everybody else screws theirs up? I have this really bad habit of trying to figure out what goes on in other peoples' heads lol.... I usually just end up frustrated and baffled.

I have come to the conclusion that the person you are referring to has bigger problems than just being re-united with her spouse. Her timeline claims that her AOS fee was payed almost two months before NVC even received her case. She also claims that NVC actually called her. Wouldn't that be great.

I'd like to share with you the AOS Checklist received last week.

It looks complicated, but in fact is pretty simple to understand: we did not send the 2013 tax info, therefore the NVC asks for it

here's how it is presented (a multi pages PDF), and the reader should ONLY take into account the fields marked with a [x] (the " stands for "nothing to say")

I put in RED the identified items. they all have a clear logic: has the NVC did not get the 2013 data, they ask for an updated I864 form (with 2013 information) and for the supporting documents. (their 1st assumption being that my joint sponsor doesn't have a job anymore in 2013, the proof of employment now becomes mandatory)

Please review the instructions below then refer to the final page of this checklist for mailing instructions.

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist

[x] Please complete and submit Form I-864 (Affidavit of Support). You can download the form and instructions at htttp://www.uscis.gov/i-864.

In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...

In Part 2. Information on the Principal Immigrant, please correct the following...

In Part 3, Information on the Immigrant(s) You are sponsoring, please correct the following...

In Part 4. Information on the Sponsor, please correct the following...

In Part 5. Sponsor's Household Size, please correct the following...

In Part 6. Sponsor's Income and Employment, please correct the following...

In Part 8, Sponsor's Contract, please correct the following...

The Form I-864 we received was missing the following page(s). Please ensure you include all nine pages when you resubmit the form.

You must submit the following financial evidence:

[x] Proof of current employment (examples: a recently dated job letter, pay stub, or a copy of your business license).

[x] A written statement indicating why you did not file _________2013__________________________ Federal income tax returns.

[x] ___________2013________________________ IRS tax schedules.

[x] ___________2013________________________ Federal income tax returns, IRS printout, or Letter 1722 issued by the IRS.

[x] _________2013__________________________ W-2 forms(s) or IRS Tax Transcript(s).

NVC Special Instructions

Please review the instructions below then refer to the final page of this checklist for mailing instructions.

I-864, Affidavit of Support Checklist

[x] The Affidavit of Support is an important legal contract between you and the U.S. government. During our review, we identified one or more sections that were either incomplete or contained incorrect information. Please review the additional instructions below then complete and submit a new Affidavit of Support. You can download the I-864 form and instructions at http://www.uscis.gov/i-864.

In Part 1. Basis for Filing Affidavit of Support, please correct the following...

There was a whole lot on this thread regarding a post that I made last week. Yes, NVC supervisor called me after I had a supervisor review made on my DS261 and did not received the IV fee bill yet. I called and she promise me she would follow up on it and give me a call when it is taken care of.

Everything else, I don't know about!!! The people who responded last week were so rude, I would have to get rude with them, so I just chose not to respond. I don't think anyone would come on visa journey to waste their time trying to throw other people off. That person would really need psychological help!!! So, I am saying all this to say - let's keep the thread with the positive comments and better yet lets continue to cheer each other on as the IV Bills come in, AOS approved and even better yet Lot's of CC's for everyone.

see i told you so !!!!! and you completed your DS-260 To !!!! niceeee :thumbs::thumbs:

I didn't complete it yet! I hope it will be available today. :)

NVC says they may take upto 60 days to review AOS package. But can somebody tell, how long is it actually taking? and God forbids if someone gets checklist, how long after scan date, they issue checklist and time taken to review checklist?

Our AOS package was accepted on the 30th business day after being scanned in on July 2. As for checklist times, I'm not sure.

Just got our interview date. Sept 2nd! I wasn't expecting it to be so soon! Now we really need to rush to get all the documents we need to replace since NVC can't send our original AoS packet until sept 10th! It's up to my parents to send what a need from the states as my dad is the joint sponsor. Everything is ready on our end. Here's hoping it all works out!

Congrats on getting your interview date and good luck!

One thing I don't understand, people who submitted their DS- 261 in July are still waiting for IV fee invoice and people who did that in August (seen 2-3 cases) have their IV fee unlocked? why is it so? Aren't they reviewing the online forms in order. I want to be honest. I am Jealousssss. Why am I not lucky? :crying: It hurts

I wouldn't get too anxious...our IV fee was invoiced 66 days after completing the DS-261. There really is no rhyme or reason to the NVC's madness.
