I got checklisted for a Police Certificate.. Its not required for Costa Rica at the NVC. I just called and asked for a supervisor review and it was removed a day later even though they tell you that the review takes up to 30 days !! The reviewers obviously don't know all the rules for each country. If that is all you get checklisted for, you should get a case complete when they remove it.

I called last week to verify if for dominican republic a ppc was required to be sent to the nvc and the lady told me no only for the interview. But when i called again they told me it was required.many of relatives says they didnt have to send it and i have 2 others that said they did send it.

Just got off the phone with Gabriella and she said that the DS-260 has been looked at it and is fine as well as the Immigration Visa papers but they are waiting for the corrected AOS. And I was like, "Yea, that was scanned in a week ago. It's there." So then she said to give them... Guess how many days guys?

So basically I would have had a Case Complete if it wasn't for the paralegals mistake. Good times.

No it isn't necessary. Any document in the native language of the country does not have to be translated :-D good news right? You can send the package without the PCC if you want and once u receive it use the same barcode to send it on it's on... But it'll prob be the same outcome if u decide to wait or not... Not sure anyone else has an opinion on this??

Hello everyone glad to join you all. I got a very fast approval which am happy about but I don't know how long and what happens next. Guess I shouldn't complain cos I have it better. Anyway please can somebody tell me if VSC sends an email when they mail your docs to the NVC pls and what the timeframe is taking for VSC to send? I am not seeing too much of any of VSC pls. Thank you all

Congrats on your approval! No, I never got anything from VSC and had no idea when it shipped or when NVC got it. A couple weeks after I was approved I started calling. First time NVC said they didn't have it. Second time they did. So I think you'll just have to call NVC every once in awhile to check in.

I (the US Citizen petitioner) have begun to look on the internet for job options but there is no way that I can even start sending applications and looking for housing for us until we are somewhat near the end of this process. :/

I hear ya. However, I think we'll probably get an Aug interview assuming we don't get a checklist. :star:

It may work out to be just perfect if you get a job offer starting from Aug.

On the other hand, I (the beneficiary) am so eager to apply for jobs in the US, but there is no sense in doing that before getting the visa. :clock:

I have a question that I'm sure there's a simple answer to, but I'm a bit unclear. So for the IV documents I understand they do not need to be translated. My husband's passport and our marriage certificate are already in both English in Arabic. However the police certificate and birth certificate will not be. When I send them into the the NVC I don't think anyone will be able to read Arabic...so how will they know I've completed the IV requirements? Do you put a sticky note the ones that are not in English telling them what it is? We are thinking to translate them anyway, to be honest...but if anyone can explain how that works with untranslated documents, please let me know.

Thanks

After it was scanned into the system it took approximately 2 weeks for them to look at it.

Hi LifeOnHold! Thank you so much for your reply. I just have a follow-up question though, how will I know if they already scanned it to their system? Should I call them again, say a week after they received our packet?

Thank you!

So I put my AOS and IV papers in overnight shipping today! and completed the DS-260's for both my wife and stepdaughter. I'm saying a prayer that they dont checklist me for anything...but who knows. I have everything in order, so there is really no reason to checklist me. Everything is in one envelope, so they should be scanned in at the same time. Wish me luck!

Thanks! That's what we were saying- that we've used the embassy in Cairo before and you always need things translated...however the NVC site says the documents don't need to be translated if in the language of the country the interview is in. I think better safe than sorry! I'd rather have my husband take them and get them translated before he sends them Fedex to me and be a few days behind schedule then get checklisted.
