Has there been a drastic slow-down at the TSC for K1visas or is it just me?

We are still waiting. As of today it's been 7months and 14days since we received our NOA1 and still no approval. Either there's beeen a dramatic slow down for all applications at the Texas service Center or something is wrong. We got our congressman to make an inquiry about two weeks ago and we still haven't heard anything else from him or from USCIS. Sigh.At this point, with two service requests put in and a request for help from our congressman, I guess there's really nothing else we can do but continue to wait.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Sorry to say yes there are many of us. I suspect that there has been a major upset at the TSC because our service request along with another poster had the identical response. Someone retired that was facilitating the process or there was a change in the guard. I can't imagine what is taking so long but it's not a fun situation to be in. We are October filers.

TSC has really slowed down for the I-130 filers too, so I agree something must have happened to them operationally.

Your timeline is interesting. As it seems to have taken forever for your alien registration number to have changed.

I'm expecting a bit of a delay on NAO2 as my intendeds background checks might take a little longer than normal, (has a conviction in past), but my alien registration number changed in 6 days.

Yet you have been told there is a delay in background checks.

You're absolutely right. Why My alien registration number took so long to change was baffling to me. Everyone I saw had theirs change in a matter of a week or less, mine took months. So when it finally did change I thought, approval must be right around the corner-so far that hasn't been the case. I have no criminal history nor does my fiancée but I lived in the US for several years for college and a little afterwards in two different states so im thinking that's why the background checks my be taking longer but still, feels unusually long.

I guess you're right because it seems your case is going well. I keep imagining that our case worker went on maternity leave or something so all her cases ended up either stuck gathering dust on her desk or passed on to someone else who's now overloaded with twice as many cases. Haha.

I am the United States citizen petitioner and yes I did on May 1, 2014. His office special assistant that handles immigration was polite and provided me with some information that could not be easily understood from reading the instructions or from the posted dialog on the case status notices available on the USCIS website. It's sad to believe that we can't be given all the information so that there is no surprises. It would make more sense to give us the truth then blowing smoke. I suspected that the information was not all provided and most of what I was told by the Congressman's Special Assistant I had already guessed was happening. She said that the timelines posted are inaccurate and not updated regularly. Most I-129F petitions and I-130s are taking 8 to 9 months. Although I believed that the USCIS was doing background checks on my beneficiary during this stage of the Visa process it is not clearly defined by the USCIS. If you see my timeline you know we are at the very beginning stage that the USCIS says they are doing the initial review to do background checks on the petitioner and to look for fraud indicators. I am sure that will take a whole five seconds as they have all my documents, social security number, passport information and lord knows enough other data to overload the largest cargo ship on the ocean. She did say that she would make an inquiry once I provided a brief timeline of events and other appropriate information. I did that immediately. So she said she would make the call and we should hear something within 3 to 5 business days. I hope others find this information helpful. It really does make one wonder what is happening when no one tells you the truth.

Its been three months going on four..I guess from this thread it means more and more waiting. I understand that the fees are going to be increased for I-130's and 129s in July 2014!!! wow
