This does not mean you are necessarily close. I'm sorry :( Our ARN got update a day or so after we got our NOA1 but that was back in January and we are still waiting on our NOA2. I have also seen a wide variation in the amount of times it has taken people to get approved but if you look a lot of those people are from places with major social unrest or natural disasters and their cases are being expedited. There also seems to be the few other cases that just fly through but you never really know if they are entering their info with the right dates and information. I called USCIS yesterday and I asked them to please check the file dates they were currently working through and they told me October 1st :( I have seen more recent ones approved on VJ but that is the date they are giving. Lately, using Igor's list on VJ I have seen a lot of October, November NOA1 dates being approved. Sometimes I think it just depends on what pile they throw your application in when it gets there. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you to be one of the quick ones. It has been 91 days since our NOA1 and we are dying.

Thank you so much for the reply, and I hope you'll get the NOA2 soon, I know it needs lots of patience and I'm not ready for it myself :(

But Turkey, where I am from, is in social unrest right now, with all the bans and the government... I don't know if they will give importance to that, but I'm getting myself ready for 5 months of wait like they say on their website so I won't be so sad if it's going slow..

About Philippines, I wonder why USA just didnt drop the visas for they if the Americans want to help so much. For my opinion is not fair, I know I will be very commented but is not fair, what now?! we need to expect a tragedy in our country to can move more faster ? Now was the earthquick in Chile, now we need to expect to do same with those people?! I know its sound mean what I say, and thanks God we aren't hit by a typhoon or something else, but explain me : "phillipines was hitted by that typhoon, but they have time to stay in front of PC to spend time on internet and to have fun?! where's the tragedy?! ". Again I know its sound mean but I dont want to sound like that

Oh, this again. Where is the tragedy? Did you not see any of the news about it? On the PC having fun? What are you talking about? They could have had a petition filed already that got expedited or they were planning on filing and needed to file the petition right away to get out of there. Some of the creitera for expediting is for humanitarian reasons and extreme emergent situations. They simply made those that were the victims of the typhoon automatically expedited instead of them having to put in for an expedite. It just saved a little time for them. Victims of the recent earthquake in Chile should be expedited as well. It is completely fair because if you have a reason/need for expedition, then you can put in for one too. Otherwise, you wait along with everyone else that is able to. I do not know what you intended to sound like, but caring, empathetic and understanding are not among them.

I'll reiterate what everyone else said, getting an A number assigned is virtually meaningless. I was hopeful too when ours was assigned so quickly. It's been 5 weeks since we were notified about the A number assignment and the status hasn't changed even though we're under expedited review.

Hi everyone!

I know there's been lots of posts about this, but it was shocking for me to receive the Alien Registration Number so early!

I've just logged in to USCIS website to check my case status and it says that my Alien Registration Number was changed on 2th of April, a day after we got our NOA1.

Does this mean that things are going fast in TSC and we'll get NOA2 soon? I really hope so!

Best wishes and good luck on your case!

by today o tomorrow congrats!!!!

If you feel there is social unrest to the point of danger you should call USCIS and apply to be expedited on humanitarian grounds. It is free. They are pretty strict I hear so make sure you have your facts straight. God bless! Stay safe.

Exactly this, it doesn't mean anything other than you now have an alien registration number. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's been more than 3 months now since our alien # was changed - I won't start panicking until we hit month 6...

Just to share my experience (even though I'm repeating what other posters have said by it not meaning anything regarding an approval and that each application needs an A number attached so it just means someone has given you a number) but I got my A number a couple of weeks after my NOA1, but the approval didn't happen until the following month.

So best not to get your hopes up unfortunately. Good luck in your journey though :)

folks -

see my timeline....

the TSC estimated timeline of around 55 days is spot on - if you submitted everything as required.

mine was delayed because of additional evidence needed

after sending in the requested evidence = fast turnaround to review & approval.

good luck.

It's only a few days and I feel really stressed about it, I think I'll go mad by the time I get the approval :) That's a good way to relax, though, and I've been watching TV series, and Game of Thrones is coming out so that'll be a great way to pass the time ;)

good luck.

I do not think the wait time is solely dependent on submitting everything that is required. That does not explain why over the last month we have seen filers from Oct/Nov/Dec being approved without an RFE. Those filers were well over the ~55 day average and appear to have submitted all required documentation (due to lack of RFE). And I anticipate seeing a significant amount of our fellow TSC January filers be approved in the next two months without RFEs.

Your approval timeline (~55 days) appears to an exception to the rule for TSC...if you look at the the recent TSC approvals reported here on VJ.
