I don't understand why K1 applicants are being approved so quick (some time days after NOA1) and IR1/CR1 wait for months. At least they should approve K3 applicants quickly and not just wait and approve the two petitions on the same day.

I just don't understand what they doing and how they look at things. You would think married couple will get higher priority but guess not. Good for K1 applicants!!

For K1s getting the visa is only half the process. You still have to get married and AOS.

K-1 has to file AOS after the fiance/fiancee arrived in US to obtain Green Card. The AOS can take up to a year or less to have GC in their hands. K-1 pays more money than CR-1 and I dont think the processing time between those two are way different.

No I'm not mad. They just lucky. The point is I just don't understand why they get approved quickly I know they still need to get married, file AOS etc. But for IR1/CR1 applicants submitting I130 is just the start and it shouldn't take ~ 8 months (if not more) just to get the petition approved.

It seems to chop and change each year. Not long before we got backlogged, K-1s were in the exact same situation. As of now, the I-130 waiting time is coming down quite vastly compared to last year. I'm excluding the people who filed this time last year and are still waiting as they're more exceptional than the norm at this point.

Yeah I noticed the wait time is dropping for I130 applicants. What's the average wait time now as far as you know?

hi I'm the same Im not mad at them Im mad at the situation how come us that are married don't get it as fast as they do ! isn't a marriage certificate more reliable thant a ring? this tell us that USCIS is just looking for their money ! so sad that we have to wait more than a year to get approved like I mean do they even adjudicate well these files or they just see it and approve it? this is more of a risk than our visas but oh well Im happy for the other ones lucky them that don't have to wait years

And yet who do you know who has got a I-130 approved in 5 months?

Yet whats funny the stats are all F'd up. Cuz that 5 months is from when the service center gets those petitions that been sitting the last 10 months at other service centers so they count from transferring receiving date not the whole 9 yards (liars and yes they process in 5 months when they get. They really need to SHUT UP!!

Well, with a k1 you don't have greencard in hand, you're just allowed to get into the country to get married.

You also can't work right away. They can still send you home after that by not approving your AOS.

I think most SCs are down to 6 months, I know Vermont is up to the second week in October so they are trying (I hope) to get i-130s down to 5 months. Just hope they can keep it there.

I waited 6 months just get petition approved last year, then 3 months for interview, then 3 months for EAD, might get GC by Sept which will be 22 months from filing petition to GC. Not that great being a K1. Looking back I wish we had got married in UK the filed for spouse visa. quicker, easier and cheaper.
