You want a fast approval at early stage (USCIS) and see your other half faster ( not fast in term of Green Card ), then file K-1( more money). If you dont want to file AOS, but take longer time to get aporoval and less money, then go for CR1.

The system has been defined like that for long time, and you have a choice to go for at the beginning. So it is up to you guys not the system by itself. It is kinda traded off situation.

Yeah... It seems like USICS is interested in bringing K-1 applicants to the US ASAP, before they lose patience and changed their mind,

so they applied for AOS after arrival and pay a 1000 bucks. Married couples can wait - they are already married, they are not likely to get divorced :D

Yes the K1 and CR1 processes are different and most people understand that but the difference between them is largely what happens after NOA2. So merely saying that they are different doesn't answer any questions or make people less frustrated. What people are frustrated by is that it was taking 9 months for an I-130 to get NOA2 and some I-129's were taking less than 30 days. So the issue isn't the difference between the visa types it's the fact that USCIS were piling up I-130's and not touching them while adjudicating I-129's fast.

Obviously I don't have an issue with K1 filers for this, it was a decision made by USCIS and I know that in the past it was the K1 filers who suffered. For those CR1 filers who are still waiting for NOA2 hang in there, they are slowly improving the processing times and NVC is running smoothly at present.
