I know I've read alot that it's not necessary to have a roundtrip ticket for K1 and k2.My fiance and I are fighting over it cause he calls the travel agency and tells him it's a must and the tickets are now $ 2,300 something for me and son, plus they have more few hundred dollars things that must be paid at the same time.This is crazy.Please help

is it really okay to travel with just one way ticket?won't we have trouble?

What airline offers cheaper please really need the cheapest ticket possible we are trying to get a flight from manila to denver colorado.

My fiance and I traveled with one way tickets to the US and we did not have any problem. You should be just fine.

whether a travel agency or airlines, they always doing that to rip you off. We had experience with them but we refused to follow what they want. Have you try to booked the tickets online? We used Orbitz.

You only need a one way ticket with a K-1 visa. If the travel agency is saying you HAVE to book a round trip ticket, then either find another agency or book it online yourselves.

As far as the cheapest prices, you may want to shop around. When are you traveling?

Relevant specifically to the Philippines:

You can get a substantial discount by buying the one-way ticket in the Philippines. It is MUCH cheaper than buying the ticket online. Check around at several travel agencies, especially in Manila - there is a a discounted rate for first time immigrants to the U.S. My wife and son availed themselves of this discount when they joined me in the states.

There should be no issue with a one-way ticket for a K-1 visa.

You can usually get the best deals through a travel agency or directly through the airlines (calling them). Tuesday is the best day to book a flight as that is when the airlines release new deals and specials and try to fly on Wednesday or Saturday for the same reason. Kayak and Orbitz provide some decent options online for you to shop around. Denver is a United Airlines hub so any of their partner airlines will probably offer the best rates.

P.S. I can't find the one we actually used, but here was one of the prices quoted.

Airfare and taxes for Adult : USD450 plus USD149 plus USD38 = USD637.00

Airfare and taxes for Infant : USD125 plus USD149 plus USD38 = USD312.00 / USD274 with Tax Exemption Certificate

That was Manila-->San Francisco in late January 2011.

Some unfortunate souls who bought round-trip tickets but didn't use the return part ended up being denied adjustment of status and/or removal of conditions because for whatever reason, despite not even checking in, their name appeared on the flight manifest heading back to their home country. Best play it safe and get one-way.

ONE WAY tickets are fine. You do not need round trip tickets. Your fiance is talking to the wrong travel agency.

Okay we are leaving here on the 9th and yeah he is getting the one way ticket now.I guess we can't do anything about the prices they are not cheap anymore a week or so was just $500-$700 dollars but it it's gone up to $2000 including taxes and other fee so this is so much better than the other one my fiance was talking to.We are flying with Delta, he hasn't paid it yet though cause they need him to fax a copy of his card.
