Whew! Thank you guys SO much! This is such a relief! You have no idea how much I've been obsessing over this.

Then again, maybe you do. wink.png

After all, we're all kind of in the same boat, here.

Alright, so I finally have an idea of how to shorten it and make it more quality, way less quantity. cool.png

One more question, though, if it's okay. Does anyone know if blacking out parts of conversations for privacy reasons is okay?

Thanks a lot in advance!

My take on that is if you have to blacken it out don't use it. No need to maybe create more questions if not need be.

I agree. If you have to black out parts of it, then do not choose those conversations to send.

Alright, I think there's something I can do.

Oh, and forgot to ask, but in terms of email records/logs (just the list of emails sent back and forth, not the individual ones) does it matter whose email account the screencaps are from? I've screencap-ed our email records from my account (the beneficiary's), but should we submit ones from my fiance's account (the petitioner's) as well?

Also, the letter of how we met (I-129F Supplement: Question 34.a.): Should this have a date and a letterhead like the Fiance Letters of Intent?

Or is a simple signature at the bottom enough? Thanks!

On eemail account is fine. remember the MOST important thing you need to focus on is showing the "meet within the last 2 years" you would be surprised how nmany people do not clearly show this. So just focus on that emails and such is later stuff for months down the road.

Do you expect any issues with your petition, do you have any red flags? If not save yourself a lot of hassle and postage money. Front-loading is required/recommended in high fraud and countries with worse economic situation which Germany is far from that.

Normally you only need to write down a simple statement when filling I-129f about how you met in the last 2 years and support it with evidence like boarding passes, copies of all passport pages showing entry stamps, few pictures.

A lot of vj users statement is short enough that it fits in the space provided on the form and go smoothly through the process.

Good luck and hope your fiance will enjoy Florida, I do :-)

Good advice, this is what we did.

You are allowed to redact intimate conversation. But no need to redline it. Just don't include it.

Also consider giving a summary of an y voluminous record, so the consular officer does not get the impression that he has to read the whole thing to get anything out of it. For example, list something like: September, X number of Skype calls totalling Y number of minutes.

I don't agree with this at all, they have been dating 7 years, not 2. Evidence should encompass their entire relationship, not just the last 2.

To the OP: I just sent a sampling of email, chats and phone bills encompassing our entire relationship. I also sent about 10 photos, passport stamps and copies of boarding passes. My total package was only about 30 pages including the petition itself, required documents and supporting evidence.

@mimolicious See, that, in my book seems kind of contradictory. How long was your relationship up to that point?

For us, considering how much conversation has been going on for those 7 years, it'd be more like 300 pages instead of 30.

And that's at a minimum.

I've considered one thing, though: I would like to include copies of both our college transcripts, which show, as outlined in the letter of how we met, that we first met because we attended the same college class in early 2007. I understood that I might not have to include anything else in this initial application that refers to an ongoing relationship, but I think this one would fit. What do you guys think?

No it doesn't fit in initial application. That is for interview. 2007 is too old and trust me you may confuse the poor person adjudicating your case because they will see they meet in 2007 and they may look at that as the last time you meet.

Focus like i said on the last two year meet requirement. Save everything else for the interview. I mentioned the Relationship timeline especially for you so you can tell what happened in the 7 years so they can see in a snap shot have evidence examples if you want (how we meet 2007...the transcripts on and on).

I think you are trying to put too much in something and you arre getting way from what you are required to do. I have read too many times folks who been together since childhood and they showed all that but the last two years was lost in all the mess. So they got denied at USCIS some get an RFE and a second chance.

Well to answer your question USCIS could really careless. All that evidence really is for the CO at embassy. Everything but the kitchen sink is more for those at hgh fraud embassies, difficult embassies and people with read flags to over come.

When it comes to communication shoing shoing a log of calls, or when messages were sent with a brief sampling of what was sent is good.

I did a summary by the month I selected 3 conversations and at top of each page summarized what was that month about that was significant.

They really are lookig for normal regular communications. Most of us have the IM, Text, SMS, Skype, EMAIL, letters cards showing we talk usually daily thats what they want to see not nescessarily every word.

When there were gaps for us (phone lost, disconnected, network bad) I noted it. I left nothing to their imagination.

And yes you can do too much because it can also be looked at as hidingsomething. So quality is so muc better than quality.

For someone like you guys that have years together a Relationship timeline that pulls out the hiigh points and they can see on no more thane 2 pages your journey.

RELATIONSHIP TIMELINE

Minnie Mouse– Petitioner Mickey Mouse - Beneficiary

  • May, 2008 – Meet (put in names here) on the telephone via an introduction by my close friend, Goofy,
  • August, 2008 – Started e-mailing, chatting on Yahoo Messenger and talking on the telephone.
  • November, 2008 – Relationship progressing to a serious level. Made trip #1 to Osaka, Japan. Met his family and friends.
  • January, 2009 – Mickey proposed marriage over the phone. I accepted. We are officially engaged!
  • February, 2009 – I file an I-129F fiancé petition for Mickey in the U.S. on a K1 Visa. I have kids from my first marriage and we thought it would be considerate to have them meet Mickey prior to marriage and be present at their mother’s wedding, therefore, petitioning for the K1 and not the K3 or CR-1.
  • February, 2009 – Trip #2 to Osaka, Japan. Our engagement party!
  • May 2009 – I-129F petition approved by the USCIS.
  • July 2009 – Mickey’s interview at the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. Request made by CO for more photos and e-mails.
  • August, 2009 – 2nd interview at the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. Present many more e-mails phone records and photos documenting our relationship. Mickey’s visa application placed in Administrative Processing status.
  • September, 2009 – Trip #3 to Osaka, Japan. Sweet reunion.
  • November, 2009 – Request assistance from my Congresswoman – Carolyn McCarthy - to make inquiries on my behalf to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan regarding Mickey’s lengthy AP.
  • December, 2009 – Case remains under Administrative Processing status.
  • January, 2010 – I make a request of the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan to meet with the investigator handling our case in hopes of expediting the lengthy AP period. Request granted.
  • February 8, 2010 – Fraud investigators from the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan pay a visit to Mickey’s parents house. His parents confirm that our relationship is genuine and that they support it.
  • February 16, 2010 – Trip #4 to Osaka, Japan. Meet with fraud investigators at U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan. We are both interviewed separately and asked many questions pertaining to the details of our relationship. We believe all went well.
  • March 2, 2010 – Mickey called to return to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan on March 23rd (after almost 8 months of Administrative Processing).
  • March 23, 2010 – Mickey’s visa application is denied. Reason for denial: Investigator did not believe I was committed to marrying Mickey within 90 days of his arrival in the States on the K1 visa. Why? Because at the Feb. 16th interview with the investigator, I stated that I filed a fiancé petition instead of a marriage petition so that my kids could meet him first before we get married and be in attendance at our wedding. Investigator interpreted my words to mean that I needed to “understudy” my fiancé and that I wasn’t sure about marrying my fiancé.
  • April, 2010 – Attempt to overturn denial while case still at the Consulate: Letter sent from my attorney – Marc Ellis – to the U.S. Consulate in Osaka, Japan along with affidavits from friends and family attesting to the fact that my intention was always to marry Mickey as soon as he arrived here on the K1. Attorney letter and affidavits never acknowledged by Consulate.
  • April/May, 2010 – Plan our wedding.
  • May 29, 2010 – Trip #5 to Osaka, Japan.
  • June 1, 2010 - Get married!!!!!
  • June, 2010 – Upon my return to the U.S., file an I-130 petition for my husband to come join me in the U.S. on a CR-1 visa.

I, Minnie Mouse, declare under penalty of perjury that the above facts and the above timeline between my husband and me are true and correct.

No need to send all of that at first. Just 4 pictures max when u send the 129F.. You will need all of the things you mentioned at the interview at the end at the embassy or consulate. You can include a few emails or things but not EVERYTHING in your petition. Bring it all at the interview, they want proof.

My fiance and I never skyped only phone calls...we speak everyday several times a day. All u need to send to USCIS is ur letter of intent, a few pics, western union receipts if applicable and maybe one to 3 months of call log. I don't even think I sent that much. The embassy is never consistent some COs don't even ask for all of that information. Pictures definitely and maybe a few months showing communication.

Beng from a low fraud consulate and a very long term relationship I don't think you have to overwhelm them with pounds of chats and extraneous info... A time line is a good thing, some photos (printed on paper say 4 to a page maybe 3-4 pages some with family/friends) spanning some time, flight tickets and passport stamps, maybe some receipts from a trip together (but not necessary) some chats (no blacked out redacted stuff) or call logs... But 300 pages spanning the length of your 7 year courtship? Totally not necessary IMO.... You can bring more to the meter view, but honestly, I don't think you will need it... You will be OK... Don't overkill as it raises more suspicion than it quells.

Just a few chat/call logs and other relationship proof type evidence that are spread out through the span of your relationship will do. Maybe 1 or 2 per quarter or even year, since you are talking 7 years worth. That type of evidence is not even needed for the I-129F petition, and I am not sure taking pounds upon pounds of chat. call logs and screen shots is needed for the K-1 interview in Germany either.

The USCIS does not care about the relationship proof. They just need proof you met at least once during the 2 years prior to filing the I-129F petition. I doubt they will even look at the chats and logs and such. If you load it down with hundreds of pages, it just makes it harder for them to find and get to the required documentation that is needed for them to approve your I-129F petition. Most important for the petition are the passport stamps, boarding passes, and hotel/ATM/bank receipts/statements from the visits. Primary evidence of you being face-to-face within the prior 2 years time. Add a few photos to that, and you should be good to go.

Add a little relationship evidence to the petition, and then bring a little more for the K-1 interview.
