USCIS is an expert where that is concerned, when K1's were taking ages some people who had been waiting for 6+ months were still waiting while newer filers were processed.

Speaking of K1 filers, I think this persons situation and attitude makes me more than a little suspicious that one of the ones who keep commenting in our CR1 threads has created this account to troll....

i just want to say there is another case that got aproved in 19 days and it is not impossible,i wonder what takes UScis to aprove them that fast but anything can happen...sometime i lose hope and sometime i just say i have to wait a little more,my husband is getting mad about this too

Of course it's possible but the other 19 day was a K1 which are a lot faster at present, plus this person seems to be trying to get a reaction which will be easy as we are all frustrated. So it may be genuine but just consider that it might be someone messing with us.

I take it the average processing time just dropped by two weeks after your fast approval Congrats tho and good luck to evreryone else at least it seems like USCIS giving I130 petitions higher prority now.

greenivy, congratulations on your quick approval. Over my years here I have seen a few cases like this - and during my own visa journey there were a few instances. Upon investigation, it turns out that when USCIS is training new staff they will often just grab a petition/application from the most recent applications received that haven't yet made it to an adjudicator's desk. They aren't trying to circumvent the waiting time, just that those are the applications that are just coming up from the mail room and are readily available. It looks like they are training new adjudicators right now so there are going to be a number of petitions/applications processed quickly, and as we have a large membership here on Visa Journey, it is not surprising that some of these quick approvals will go to our members.

Is it fair? Nope. Is it frustrating? Absolutely. Is there anything you can do about it other than wish the beneficiary of this largess congratulations? Not likely. Many people - including me - have complained to USCIS about this over the years, and yet, it still happens.
