I'm still here too! Saylin- from your spreadsheet you made it doesn't look like many people are getting case completed since September. I'm curious if the shutdown last month affected that. I know immigration didn't shutdown but I'm sure things slowed a bit. Hmmmm. Thoughts?

For the spreadsheet, I don't add EVERYONE. I've been slacking a lot on the spreadsheet and it's gotten to the point where I don't add anyone unless they specifically request it, so there's a lot less data now.

oh so this isnt like the i-130 threads. cool stuff.

Nope. The NVC threads are different ;)

Saylin said:

It's currently taking up to 30 business days to review packages (according to the operators when you call them). If the packages have arrived at NVC, I'd suggest calling now and everyday (or as often as you wish).

Hi Saylin,

I want ask U about my case:

NVC operator told me my document has received and entered into the system on October 15,but they waiting for my DS-260 witch I send already online on October 11.How long can take to complete my case and why they don't have my DS-260?

Just to make sure, you definitely submitted the DS-260? It shows as 'completed' (or whatever the status is)? I'm not positive, but the DS-260 may be similar to the packages where it won't be showed as received until they actually get to it. I don't know the current time frames to review the DS-260.

I was just on the phone with NVC and learned that our case is now complete. Thanks so much for the info and the resources you've shared here. We'd have never made it this far in the process without your help!

Congrats!

Welcome to another monthly thread for NVC! In this first post, you'll find useful links as well as phone numbers/email addresses. In the second post I've compiled a FAQ and at the end summarized the NVC process. Please read through everything before posting questions as it's very likely that your question can be answered by reading through the links and/or FAQ.

Note: Please keep in mind, since NVC required everyone to use the online DS-261 and DS-260 forms starting September 1st, 2013, a lot of the following guides have become outdated. Please use caution.

Here's some guides for those in NVC:

-How Do I Bring My Spouse to Live in the United States

-EZGuideSpouse

-LingChe NVC Shortcut

-NVC for Montreal Beneficiaries - Electronic Processing and New Online Forms

-NVC Electronic Processing [note: if doing EP in China, only optin AFTER the invoicing of the AOS bill]

And some other useful links:

-Eligibility for Electronic Processing (table at bottom)

-Payment Portal

-Online Forms Portal (site to fill out DS-261 and DS-260)

-NVC

-NVC processing times spreadsheet (created by me, Saylin)

-Flowchart for IR-1/CR-1 Visa Applicants (created by me, Saylin)

-Free Passport Photos

-Thread on Ryan H's EP experience through China (lots of information)

Phone numbers:

NVC - 603-334-0700 (press 1 then 5 to speak with an operator) [HOURS: 7am - 12am EST, M-F]

DOS - 202-663-1225 (press 1 then 0 to speak with a visa specialist) [HOURS: 8:30am - 5pm EST, M-F. Closed 11am-12pm on Wednesdays]

I'm also going to include a few non-NVC process links to help you out for once your case is completed and an interview date is assigned:

-How to Track Your Case Using DHL (use this to figure out what date you need)

-How to Track Your Case Using DHL (use this to figure out how to use the DHL site and input everything)

Please can you help us in anyway? We would be really grateful.

Our NOA2 is dated August 27, but till now we haven't received our case # and according to NVC, they haven't still received our petition from USCIS(CSC).

We have made more than excess calls but to no avail, the departments keeps tossing us to each other, without knowing the location of our file. Missing?

We are now fedup with these tossing games from USCIS, NVC and DOS. Almost the 10th week after NOA2 and still no case # for our case. We're discouraged.

ANY ASSISTANCE? THANKS!!!

When you call USCIS, do they say the file was shipped to NVC yet?

You may want to consider contacting your congressman and/or senator to see if they can contact USCIS and NVC on your behalf.

This is for those with approved I-130 petitions and have moved onto the NVC process. You're still at USCIS. Here's the correct thread for you: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/447361-aug-2013-i-130-filers/

No, they seem not to even know the whereabout of our file, we were fortunate they even said it could be seen on their database that our petition has been approved.

Seems they couldn't find our file, in fact, they didn't know what to tell us again, till they issued us a number saying they gonna start to work on our file again, gosh, after 9weeks? Been uneasy for us....

Yes, exactly. You're still with USCIS. This thread is for those that have moved on from USCIS and are on the NVC portion. The link I provided is for I-130 filers like yourself who are still at USCIS.
