If he's in either Lagos or Ibadan or 100km of those places then I can pop into the hospital today or tomorrow to verify for you.

Yes?

I am will to bet that here on VJ those of us that are regulars can cover just about any hospital in any Nigerian city But the classic scams are an accident, a robbery or "fees" for things that never had fees.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Please do your due diligence. Who called you?

I bet they want it sent Western Union or Moneygram (probably Western Union). Yes in Nigeria you usually have to pay upfront. But when you say all your money what are you taking S1000's of dollars.

He is in serious condition so how did anyone know to call you and have the nerve to ask for money.

This and the I am trapped in a hotel and they have my wallet and passport is the biggest scams going on yahoo scammer groups. Please be wise.

Don't forget the "I am a daughter of a rich family, in trouble, and need your bank account to hide my money."

I am 35 years older than my wife of 3 years (5.5 years together). My advice would be to get married, spend as much time as possible together and then around 2 solid years into the relationship, then apply.

If you are madly in love, you will still be in 2 years and have a much better chance in my opinion. Good luck!

I believe we will have no problem getting a visa for my wife as we have 5.5 continuous years living together and did not have a problem with the B1/B2 visa.

By the way I got a letter from Nigeria the other day and I am to receive 5 million dollars from a dying businessman. rolleyes.gif

There are a lot of people in third world countries that think the internet was brought to them by God to enable them to find a naive person and then proceed to convert that persons life savings into their own. They have gone from the 419 letter from some disposed prince to trawling dating sites in search of a fool with money and a kind soul. ( and it is usually a middle aged or better fool that is about to lose their money )

One last note since I don't think she will ever be back. Reading back through the posts she stated she would talk to him about marriage and filing for the CR-1. I wonder if that happened? Maybe a day or two ago? Just before he was in this accident? He decided to milk her for all he could before he disappeared? (or pretend died from the accident)?

The extent that some are drawn into romance scams is hard to understand. There has been more than one failed Lagos interview that was on purpose so that the money cow would still send money to Nigeria.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

Yes?

Take this advice, what do you have to lose ? You owe it to yourself to investigate this in depth.

You would not be the first nor the last to get scammed. Do not feel bad right now but take a break from thinking with

your heart and think with your intellect.

It may be true. It may not be. Would you not rather know the truth no matter what it is for your peace of mind ?

Here is your chance, a generous offer by a member who is known here. Take it.

Do not be upset with the posters here, they are not your enemy though it may feel this way to you right now and we understand it is a shock

to your system.

Let Gowon check it out and come tell us we were all wrong and he really is in the hospital. I would love for it to be true and you to be

happy.

Please listen and don't allow emotions to place you in a state of denial because the pain of truth may feel too overwhelming.

There is nothing wrong with checking your man out. It does not negate what you have together if he really is injured, it is just common sense.

I know what I am talking about.

I am speaking from experience.

I was scammed many years ago and was told a similar story. I investigated the guy and found he was traditionally married and a liar telling stories.

I send several people to his home that I knew and trusted. It was confirmed that he was a liar. If you need to talk feel free to pm me.

God bless and guide you rose.gif Be strong and realistic and tackle this the right way.

we'll see how this story will wind up, but I guess this is another example of when OP was told what is real and what is not but chose not to believe in it, every story is different but when you are in love you will believe anything you want to believe despite every advise you can get

I thought the same thing too, glad to see someone else thinks that the OP is playing a joke on us all. If so, then she is far from a genuine lady everyone is worrying about and giving their time and advice to.

When one of the members offered to check out her info she should have accepted with joy their kind offer for worst case scenario someone will see her husband and tell her how he is doing at the hospital and what help he needs or best case scenario (better of the two since his life isn't at stake) he is a fraudster and she wasted her time and love on him but at least the game and pain will not continue indefinitely saving her from further of his lies. My two cents.
