My advice is, "Be there".

It is recommended that the petitioner goes on the interview day.

I'm going, I did my budge to include that ticket.

Best wishes!

Depends on the country. Some consulates encourage the petitioner to come, while others don't even let the petitioner in the building.

Find out by calling the consulate or ask for members here who went through it in your country.

I was glad that I was there to support my future spouse.

YMMV.

I didn't go and everything was fine. I think Argentina is a relatively scam-free country, so as long as your evidence is good enough, it's not really necessary to go. Usually, when they have doubts, they are willing to give a second chance, at which point you should go.

Does your case have any red flags?

What would Xenu do?

No no red flags

We were high school sweet hearts . Went different ways for 24 years after my divorce we got back together and now engaged many years of history together and many trips to Argentina to be together. Since our engagement in Dec 2012 I traveled 3 times to Argentina

Many many pics together and our families

I think it's a matter of choice. If they happen to be in the country with you then bring them but they won't need to take a flight especially for the interview. No consulate would demand that.

You are very wrong.

OP> It will depend on the consulate. For some consulates it is a must the USC fiance(e) be present. I do not know about Argentina. However, my advice is that if you can be there, then go.

People get approved all the time without their fiance(e)s being there with them in Mexico, but my husband was grilled about me not being present and asked several questions about when could I be there then before luckily going ahead and approving him anyway. Mexico does not allow the USC in the consulate either, but it definitely helps to let them know yours is present if asked, even if they cannot enter.

I'm flying next month to Guatemala to visit my fiance. I'm hoping we get our NOA2 on September so I would stay through the process and come back together.

I'll try to go as far as they let me at the embassy. I wish to be with her on every single step of the process.

Good luck!
