So if I live in California, can my wife arrive at, let's say, Las Vegas and I meet her there. Just asking.

Yes, the first US airport is where you will do immigration. It;s not usually a long interview, just some paperwork- ours was done before our lugage was out.

Yes to the first question and probably NO to the example. I doubt you can find a flight from Manila to Las Vegas that doesn't involve a POE at a major airport like LAX or SFO first anyway. Why not just meet her at the POE and join her for the flight to Vegas?

Aside from being excited to see her LAX is about the worst airport in the world, and to go from the Tom Bradley terminal to any connecting domestic flight isn't easy. After such a long wait I'd hate to end up losing her somewhere on the airport grounds...

My wife and step daughter arrived at that same terminal in 2006. I drove 1,500 miles to pick them up and drive them to my home in Washington State. They got to see some of the USA and didn't need to try to catch a connecting flight at LAX.

My wife and step daughter arrived at that same terminal in 2006. I drove 1,500 miles to pick them up and drive them to my home in Washington State. They got to see some of the USA and didn't need to try to catch a connecting flight at LAX.

At that time, it was quite expensive to fly from her city to Seattle without landing somewhere else in the US first. It's not so bad now because of new flights but Seattle was still 200 miles from where I was living at the time. I could rent a mini-van drive and pay for motels for less than the difference in air fare for two people.

Back to your situation though. Is Las Vegas really a POE option coming from Vietnam? Remember, it's the first US airport that will be the POE.

I cannot come to vietnam to bring her here due to work, but her sister will happen to be in vn during that time and will bring my wife to where her sister lives, which is Vegas. So I fly to Vegas, spend a few days there, and bring her back to California. My wife doesnt speak english, that's why she needs escort. She cant travel alone to California from vietnam.

Only if they fly to Soeul-Incheon first from Vietnam, then fly to Vegas on Korean Air (I got curious and checked the McCarran Airport website and that's how I found out about the direct flight between LAS and ICN).
