The co-sponsor would be rejected and they will get a 221g. The co-sponsor doesn't meet previous year or current year. You can't be almost at the guideline. In fact you can't even be at the guideline.

They have to meet the guideline of 3 people and they don't. They need another co-sponsor.

Okay let me look at this again when you said 2 dependents you mean the co-sponsors total household size she is entering is 2. Her and the beneficiary? Correct?

She made enough barely for 2 but she made it in prior years and current taxes (has she filed) she made enough for 3.

What she needs to than do is please don't show prior years its too week. Only submit 2012 tax transcript.

You have to look at it like a CO. People forget this is the POVERTY guideline. Which means according to the US government you are poor. Now you want to sponsor someone that may or may not even be related to you or you may not even know. Some CO's won't allow barely there. That's why having the amount to cover 3 is better. And they are married also don't think the CO isn't looking at that.

But stick with just 2012 do not submit 2011 or 2010.

Could you please explain the following in details ? - (minus 2012 taxes since I have to wait until the end of Feb to take advantage of Registered tax breaks).

As we are all in a process of getting the taxes ready, this info might be helpful to all

It has to do with investments you can write off due to them being in a registered account. We have until end of Feb to lock in these write offs up to a certain limit. Like for IRAs for Americans and RRSPs for Canadians.

Most people who have these types of accounts know about the benefits that come with them (deferred taxes, possible lower marginal tax rate, etc.).

You should talk to an investment adviser who could help you to set an account up. It's very useful. You can save a lot of money.

We arrived at NVC on January 25, so now just waiting for NVC and IIN #s and getting our ducks in a row for the next part of the process.

There is only 2 dependents. The co-sponsor just barely meets the previous 2 years for 2 dependents and she ALMOST meets 3dependants for this year. Are you saying Lagos requires that you make enough for an extra dependent? That's not fair! :-(

Oops, didn't see this post....she only sent in this years return (the one where she almost makes enough for 3 people), but on the I-865 it still asks you to list the previous 3 years income so she did write 2011 and 2010 down. I was thinking the same thing and wanted her to NOT deal with 2011 and 2010, but she said that she read people were getting RFEs of they didn't write down all 3 years of income. On lord. She has sent it off, so all we can do is pray now, I guess. And maybe have a back up sponsor ready for interview time...if at all possible.

FINALLY got our case number and all todayyyyy. Phewww

The operator couldn't add our email addresses on file said to call back on Monday. And she said since we have an attorney the bills are going to be invoiced together and sent to him! How long does it usually take? After waiting this long I can't wait to start sending in everything already.

Ps, when should I send in the optin email?

Should I ask my attorney before I optin? Or do it and don't give them an option to choose because I know they're use to posting everything.

Ha you haven't noticed. I am out of my mind. Look at me been on tis thread since NOA2 6/29. I sometime feel I am in the dugout and the coach won't let me play (I am really good you know). But its nice and I feel inspired seeing others round the bases and slide in to home.

Every NOA2, Case Complete, Interview date (these last few days have been thrilling) , Visa Approved and the POE stories love it.

Thank you for your kind words I will be a whole lot better once I am in my husbands arms for sure. Come on Case Complete.
