I would wait a week. They've been taking a big longer lately to assign case numbers (most cases I've seen are taking upwards of two weeks), so even if you do wait until Friday it probably won't be done. When I called last Wednesday (two weeks since my case had been sent) the lady I spoke to told me that it takes anywhere from 10 - 20 business days for the cases to be put in the system. I know some people have been lucky enough to get their case numbers in less time than that, but lately that seems to be around the time it's been taking for most.

Thanks for the reply. Also, should I submit additional evidence for a bonafide marriage. For the I-130 I submitted a total of 9 pictures (3 from engagement, 3 from marriage and 3 from honeymoon), 401k beneficiary add of my wife onto my retirement and phone record from March - November. Should I add additional phone records, chats, and text msg record as evidence to NVC along with sending a copy to my wife?

Hi there,

Just a quick update on our case.

I (beneficiary) emailed the choice of agent ds3032 almost 2 weeks ago (I used my email address and I'm still wondering if it's right because they only send emails to my husband (USC), so his email in on file, not mine ...).

No reply yet, I'm wondering if I should re-send it, this time with the document signed and attached, and maybe send it from my husband's email, what do you think?

AOS is paid but we haven't send it yet because we're still waiting for some documents. Hopefully everything will go fast once we have eveything ready and we'll make up for those days...

Is it right that, once ds3032 is accepted, then you can paid for part IV?

If NVC doesn't have YOUR email address on file, then they may reject your DS-3032 email. Call back up asap and confirm your email address with them. If you need to send it a second time, follow the hint in the second post ;)

Yes, once the DS-3032 is accepted and added to your case file, then the IV bill will be invoiced.

When should I start bugging NVC? My case was approved February 1st. Should I give them a week or start Wednesday?

Wait at least a week. So start next Monday. It's taking almost a month on average currently to get a case number assigned from NOA2. So, you've got lots of time.

How are the two packages? Are you reviewing them every single day to catch any errors?

Thanks for the reply. Also, should I submit additional evidence for a bonafide marriage. For the I-130 I submitted a total of 9 pictures (3 from engagement, 3 from marriage and 3 from honeymoon), 401k beneficiary add of my wife onto my retirement and phone record from March - November. Sending more evidence in the IV package is optional. Usually only those from high-fraud countries do this (Nigeria, China, etc). But, if you want to add more evidence to strengthen your case, go for it! Add whatever you have :)

My wife signed the DS-230 and 3032 and is mailing them today. I didn't have her date the papers. I'm filling out the AOS and HR is giving me confirmation letter Friday confirming employment. Received my 2009 and 2010 tax transcripts. Waiting for 2011 in the mail. I brought my wife's original birth certificate and her adoption papers. She was adopted at a young age. BC has biological parents and passport has adoptive parents. So I'll write a story explaining the situation. Translations are done also.

Yep. Just tried to be proactive. The toughest was the PCC but that was done also. Her adopted father is a retired police officer in India so the headache was reduced.

I'm sure that helped a lot! I've heard some horror stories about trying to obtain PCCs...

Bribery is an additional fee. Even with the connections, we had to put something on the table to have the officer sign the paper. Same with marriage certificate. The judge was busy in a 15 minute meeting all day for 3 straight days. We decided to put something on the table, and the certificate issues within 10 minutes.

I find it so sad that that stuff happens in other countries...

Why not just write a letter? If I go to my senator's website (Kelly Ayotte, New Hampshire), there's an electronic inquiry form. I filled that out, then they mailed me a "release of private info" form within a few days. Once I mailed this form back to the senator's office, they mailed me back within a week with a letter saying that they're investigating our case with USCIS and making a congressional inquiry. I didn't hear back from the senator's office until about 2 weeks after I got my NOA2, where they sent a letter saying something like "We understand that you got your case completed with USCIS. Congratulations".

Whether or not the senator's inquiry actually helped my case or not, who knows? I think it was just my turn up at bat.

This is a great idea! Thanks!! :)

Okay everybody, I'm hoping to call NVC today and get my numbers! Here's a list of the papers I have ready, just to get a second opinion and make absolutely sure I'm not missing anything!

AOS

- My completed and signed I-864

- A letter explaining why I've never filed taxes (http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/412728-i-864-letter-review/)

- My mom's completed and signed I-864 (she's our joint sponsor)

- Mom's IRS receipts from 2009, 2010, and 2011

- Mom's pay stubs from the past six months (including January)

- Mom's employment letter explaining position and how long she's been working there (seven years)

- Photocopy of mom's passport (color)

IV

- 2 passport pictures of hubby

- Hubby's completed and signed DS-230 PART 1

- Hubby's completed and unsigned DS-230 PART 2

- Photocopy of hubby's passport (one color, one b/w)

- Our original marriage certificate with apostille and translation

- Hubby's original birth certificate with apostille and translation

- Hubby's original police record with apostille and translation

- Photocopy of marriage cert, birth cert, police record

ALSO, I have a copy of all those things for our personal records, including mom's pay stubs, receipts and employment letter. Do you guys think this is enough, or should we also include some relationship evidence (photos, emails, ticket stubs from visits, etc)?

The only things that I know for sure that are missing are the barcode cover sheets, but since I haven't been able to pay the fees yet I still don't have them. I plan on sending everything together, but separating them with paperclips so the papers don't get all mixed up. Is that good enough?

Thanks for any feedback!

For the AOS package, include a copy of your birth certificate, showing your mother's name. Also, it'd be a good idea to include a copy of both your driver's licenses, showing a common address. Did you mother file taxes jointly with her husband? If so, she'll need to provide her W2s as well, to show the separate incomes on the tax transcript.

For the IV package, a photocopy of the police certificate isn't needed as you won't be getting that back at the interview. Only copies for birth and marriage (and divorce/military, if applicable) are needed.

For relationship evidence, it's optional. Usually only those going through high-fraud countries (like Nigeria, China) include it. Is Ecuador a high-fraud country? If it is, are you want to further strengthen your case, go ahead and add some evidence. Definitely won't hurt your case!

If you're going to send them together, I suggest paperclipping the AOS package together and putting it in a manila envelope. Write your name and address on the outside, along with 'Affidavit of Support package' somewhere on it, along with your case number. Do the same thing for the IV package in another manila envelope. Then put those two manila envelopes into one larger envelope and mail that. That's what I would do anyways!

Well, my mom's divorced so she doesn't have a husband to file with! So I think we're good on that front. Also, we don't have a common address - she owns an apartment close to her job, and I live with my handicapped father to help him. Does the joint sponsor have to be somebody from the same household? Thanks for the birth cert tip - I'd previously asked that here, but somebody told me not to. Going to order that right now!

Honestly, I don't know if Ecuador is a high fraud country! Is there a site I can get that info from? And I was planning on doing the manila envelope idea, anyway - sounds like the most organized way to do it!

You know what? It feels good to be chastised by the NVC operator that it takes 10-20 business days after the file is received to get a case number. At least I can do something!

Next time Im going to just compliment her and say "I just wanted to hear your lovely voice" and see if I can get a laugh out of robot lady.
