I am waiting decision on my K-1 application. I believe I have enough evidence to prove the existance of relationship. Visited twice since we met, communications, money transfers, pictures, bank statements showing that she was using my american bank card for over year in my native country until I stopped it. But I want to fly to home to attend the interview with her because I am not happy with some of her answers to possible questions and that scares me sometimes. She thinks since I have filed for her, AO will just call her to come for the visa. Also she is been there once for student visa but was refused. Do you think my presence with her will improve her chances of getting the visa?

You can be moral support, and in some embassies it helps that the USC is there.

If you don't like the answers of your fiancée, try to talk with her so she understands why you don't like it... You can practice together so she feels comfortable with possible questions. In this sense, it probably help to be together so you can talk it through for real and not by skype or phone good.gif

(But probably you can't fly over to answer instead of her, as said before )

Good luck in your visa journey!

Not sure IF you can attend but even if you do (and I walked right up to the window with Alla) you cannot answer ay questions. It is HER inetrview. Her using your bankcard may not be a good thing to disclose at all, in some consulates that is not a good thing to show. If you try to answer they will promptly tell you to be quiet or invite you to leave.

At least I can help to clarify issues they may have. she gets apprehensive when she is under pressure.

You will not be allowed to clarify anything. IF they allow you in, you stand there like a potted plant and keep your mouth shut. Your ONLY purpose is moral support for her.

Thanks very Carol and your suggestion is well taken. I have been sending her answers to possible questions and I hope to continue to do that. I think I have to be patient with her because sometimes I get angry with her because there are some asnwers I expect her to know and when she doesn't, I just go crazy. It may have to do with differences with our educational background and my exposure to immigration officers. Anyway, thanks very much for your suggestion because you made me realized that I may have been hard on her and it is about time I calm down and help her.

I went to Ghana to give my fiancee moral support during her interview last year. As far as I am concerned, it helped that I was there. I was asked all the questions and the CO didn't ask my fiancee any question. I was surprise. At the end of the interview, the CO said that she is convinced that our relationship is genuine and she does not need any further document but unfortunately we were put under AP.

Do you think my presence with her will improve her chances of getting the visa?
This is the exact question that the OP asked. Read point #7 in this thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/410945-k-1-journey-completed/

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

My fiancée and I created a bunch of flash cards with questions on the front and the answers on the back. It was very helpful making these together and collaborating on the precise answers we both thought would be good. After that she had the cards to use for whenever she wanted to study and I think it really eased her anxiety over the whole interview process. Just a suggestion....

Money transfers and use of your credit card are red flags that you are buying the relationship. DO NOT include that.

If I might chime in, I think its agreat idea for you to attend as it shows the commitment that the two of you have. I did the same last year, it gave my fiance' confidence standing at her side and if there needed to be clarification, I was there to support her. Good luck to you !

No, you cannot clarify anything for her, at all, end of story, they want her answers, not yours. Trust me I attended the interview with my husband, I was told to NOT answer or chime in on any of my husband's questions. Not to mention the fact that after the interview began, we were questioned separately. This is HER interview, not yours. You being there will not hurt, it is a good thing if you're there. But you cannot answer or clarify on her behalf. Just practice potential questions and answers before the big day.
