Consulate Review: Ghana
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : November 3, 2012
Embassy Review : I (the petitioner) went with my fiancee to the interview. When my fiancee got called by the CO, I followed her to the window and introduced myself as the petitioner and since we were sitting right in front of window 4 where the interview took place, the CO said she noticed me already from the pictures. We both sworn in and I (the petitioner) was asked ALL the questions: how we met, when I first got to the U.S. and on what visa, whether I have tried to bring any previous spouse to the U.S. on a tourist, K-1 or IR-1/CR-1 visa. Then the CO picked up a blue sheet (and I saw "Visa Collection Ticket" on it) and wrote my fiancee's first name, then looked at the computer and paused. She then gave my fiancee a sheet to fill it out and the CO said I could help her out (the sheet asked for the names and dates of birth of her parents, siblings and children, if any, addresses for the last five years, employment for the last five years, previous names used, etc). The CO proceeded to interview two more people and then called us to her window. She then said she has a good news and a bad news for us. She said the good news is that she is convinced that our relationship is genuine and that we do not have to bring any further document to prove a genuine relationship. The bad news, she said, is that my fiancee has been RANDOMLY selected by the computer for further administrative processing and she doesn't know when the AP process will be completed. She gave us back the letters/cards, call records, photos, skype records, emails. She kept the affidavits from my fiancee's father and my roommate and also my fiancee's birth certificate. She gave us back her passport and a sheet with the box "waiting further administrative processing" checked with "will call" written on it. The CO was very nice.
Rating : Very Good

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
