You are right M+M, it does say black ink.... I'm glad I read your message, I was about to use blue ink. I originally used one of those water-based gel inks, and I was able to see it smear when applied moisture to it ( I wonder if they thought of doing that at USCIS-a simple experiment). Anyway I have decided to use an oil-based ink (black) and I see it's not as fine as the original.

I also decided to add more evidence of our marriage (might not be necessary, but it wouldn't hurt). I hope the return was for a good reason at the end of the day.

Although I had read the instructions, I still used blue ink to sign and black to fill in form. I dont think that using blue ink for signature would be or should be a problem.

What bothered me was that if they are telling in the instructions to use black ink to fill the details in the form then most likely people will use blank ink to sign as well, and in that case its hard to tell whether its ink or photocopy, so why even check!

We received TWO I-797, Notice of Action forms today. Two different envelopes, mailed on the same day. They appear to be exactly the same. Not sure why they sent two.

I find it strange that these NOAs say on them: "If you have not already done so, provide supporting documents to assist USCIS...." It sounds like an RFE...but not?

Hey MeggyMo. My 21 months of living here in the US had been very challenging so far. A lot of things had happened and time went by so fast. As soon as I moved here, I applied for a license so that I would be able to practice my profession. I also learned how to drive, passed the written test at first take, yet it took me three times to pass the actual driving test. I was able to get a job and have been working for the same employer for 1 year and 3 months now. My husband had to leave me for 6 months because of deployment. Got a house while he was away and now he's back and he's with me again, it feels so much better.

I hope all of us will have an easier time dealing with USCIS again. I'll be praying for us all.

Yea I was nervous about getting my license here too. I didnt drive back home didnt need to. It took me two times I was crushed when I failed the first time! How are u liking ur job? What do u do? U are a trooper I wouldnt know what to do with myself being alone for that long im glad he is home for u now :). We are holding off on a house even though I want one so bad. We are thinking of moving back to canada in a few years to be close to my family since my husband doesnt speak with his family here. It makes it more difficult. I have such a close family and leavong that was pretty tough

Failing the driving test was so awful it made me cry. But I'm still grateful I made it on the 3rd time and wouldn't have to take another written test. I am a clinical lab scientist. I worked in a hospital here in Northern CA for a year as per diem, then got a full time position in a reference laboratory under the same employer. I love what I do. At times it's stressful but I think all jobs can get tough sometimes so I am trying to hang in there and just breathe. My husband and I decided to get a house because we wanted to have our own place where we could live more comfortably. After I came here, we lived in an apartment for 13 months and during that time, there were unpleasant things that happened and by the end of our lease, we didn't get our refund, the management made us pay instead. Also, we are planning to live here in the US until we retire so we think it is reasonable to get our own place. Like you, I have a closely-knit family, my husband's, not as much, but they talk over the phone every now and then. My siblings are all here in the US so that's why I am not as home-sick, although me and my husband would definitely go back tto my hometown. It's our ideal place where we can enjoy retired life :) Goodluck on your plans. I hope it all works well for you and your hubby.

Well. Well. Well. Here we go again. I just sent out the I751 package today to USCIS Vermont SC. I am hoping to get the NOA1 buy 20th of January. My wife is in Bangladesh and she's coming back on Jan 21st. I was going to email her the NOA1 just in case. May I get the NOA1 this week. Please, please, please.

I can't wait for my wife to get home. I miss her a lot. Looks like I751 is a yearlong process. I'm just going to sit tight on my ####### and wait it out. I think my wife will be ready to apply for citizenship by the time we get our 10-yrs green card.

We received our NOA1 today as well, dated 1/10/13. Also, saw the check was cashed today via my bank's online access. I put the G-1145 E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance form on top of all the paperwork (just underneath the check), and never received an e-mail or text. Hmmm Not sure if this form generally works for people or not.

Happy to have received the NOA1. Watching for the Biometrics appointment! Then, we get to wait 6-12 months it sounds like!
