You people. Stop it, you! You are giving me hope. Now I fully expect to get NOA1 by Friday. I'm going to hurry and email it to my wife and ask her to print a copy and bring it along with her when she's coming back to America.

Also, I wanted to ask: About how long do you all plan on waiting before you starting calling up the senators to inquiry on your behalf about the I751 approval? I'm thinking about waiting 4 months and then calling up my senators? Is that too aggressive? Or should I even bother with calling up senators.

Looks like I751 is a yearlong process. I'm just going to sit tight on my ####### and wait it out. I think my wife will be ready to apply for citizenship by the time we get our 10-yrs green card.

Also, I wanted to ask: About how long do you all plan on waiting before you starting calling up the senators to inquiry on your behalf about the I751 approval? I'm thinking about waiting 4 months and then calling up my senators? Is that too aggressive? Or should I even bother with calling up senators.

I don't know why you changed your way of thinking, but right now, VSC is just start working on May filers' case. Waiting is now around 9 months for VSC filers. You don't call senators while you are in normal timeframe...

And confusing hasn't received Bio letter yet. How can he update that date??

We received our NOA1 today as well, dated 1/10/13. Also, saw the check was cashed today via my bank's online access. I put the G-1145 E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance form on top of all the paperwork (just underneath the check), and never received an e-mail or text. Hmmm Not sure if this form generally works for people or not.

Happy to have received the NOA1. Watching for the Biometrics appointment! Then, we get to wait 6-12 months it sounds like!

IndigoSkies - Is your wife's greencard expired or near expiration? I thought I read that the NOA1 extension letter must be an original to use in conjunction with an expired greencard?

We are traveling to the UK, hopefully, in Feb and I was just wondering.

Exactly 5 months!!! No Interview. No RFE.

Strongest Evidence? My 8-year relationship and 3-year marriage to my husband.

If it does not show commitment, then I don't know what does...

IndigoSkies - Is your wife's greencard expired or near expiration? I thought I read that the NOA1 extension letter must be an original to use in conjunction with an expired greencard?

We are traveling to the UK, hopefully, in Feb and I was just wondering.

My wife's green-card will expire on 21-FEB-2013. She's coming back to America by 24-JAN-2013. She'll be here before her green-card expires. And we are not going to travel anywhere after that until she gets her 10-yrs green-card or citizenship. I was just going to send her the NOA1 letter copy just in case. I can't send the original because there wouldn't be enough time for her to receive it before she leaves Bangladesh. That's if I get the NOA1 by this Friday.

This is the first time I am dealing with I-751 process. So, I wouldn't take my advice at face-value but here's what I would do if I was travelling with an expired green-card and a I751 NOA1 extention: I would take the expired green card, the extension letter, I would also get the visa extension seal on my passport. I know it's overkill but you can't rely on point-of-entry officials being knowledgeable, reliable, or co-operative. The chances are that they are but I'd err on the side of caution. I would also take things that shows I'm tied down and invested in USA. I think as a UK person, you'd have less trouble than me as a Bangladeshi person.
