K-3 was never known as an IR1...k-3 visas are no longer issued. Is it a marriage based visa? If so you must petition the I-130 for the CR1/IR1. The process varies depending on a lot of factors. To give an estimate on the timeline you need to give is more details.

It's really hard to say how long a cr1 will take, it can take 6 months if you are lucky, a year if you are not. You could end up in ap and then who knows how long it can take...

All you can do is wait

My sons AOS and IV bill paid March 23rd (status in progress)
My sons AOS and IV bill shows as paid March 26
My IV bill paid March 26
Both packages sent on March 26
My IV bill shows as paid on March 27th
CC on both cases March 30

Current record holder of fastest through the NVC :D

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!
POE Anchorage July 12th!! 2012

July 2015 n-400 in the mail

September 2015, interview

October 23rd 2015, Oath ceremony!!!!!​​

Op- the title of your post is Prolong Approval. Are you worried you will get approved too fast? If so, simply take your time sending the next set of paperwork (at NVC stage) back.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

The 3 month mark where you're at is still within normal processing times.

Also, if your timeline information is complete, you are filing for the CR-1 (you don't qualify for the IR-1 because you have not been married more than 2 years), not the K-3.

USCIS: CR-1 Visa @ Vermont Service Center (Approved in 140 days from NOA1)

03/07/11: I-130 package sent to Chicago Lockbox

03/14/11: NOA1 via text and email (03/21/11: in the mail); petition routed to VSC

07/27/11: NOA2 via text and email (07/30/11: received in the mail)

08/01/11: Case received at NVC

09/19/11: Case complete and forwarded to consulate

10/19/11: Interview (APPROVED!!!)

11/18/11: POE

12/12/11: 2- year Green Card arrives in the mail

12/22/11: Applied for SSN at local office

12/26/11: SSN arrives in the mail

08/20/13: ROC window opens

10/03/13: I-751 package sent to Vermont Service Center

10/05/13: I-751 Delivered (Signed for by Karen Fitzgerald)

10/09/13: Check cleared bank account

10/11/13: NOA1 received (dated 10/07/13)

The OP may have filed for the K3. That doesn't mean they will RECEIVE the K3 because it is the NVC who forwards it or closes it, not the USCIS. Obviously people at VJ recommend to not bother with the K3 because of NVC administratively closing almost all of the accompanying I-129F petitions, but that doesn't mean someone can't still petition in that manner to begin with. Even if doing so is pretty much useless.

ogims - Please update your service center. You are probably with the National Benefits Center, not Texas. This site uses the timeline data statistics to help others and it is best if you are as accurate as possible when inputing the data. Thanks so much! :)

p.s. Patience is a virtue. I know how hard it is to see others approved before you are but the US gov't is very much "Hurry up and Wait" so try to not obsess but be ready for the next stage. Preparedness is all you can do. That and learn to mediate probably. ;) heehee
