VISAs are printed at the IV Unit.

Not Washington.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

DoS Hotline Knows all about the casefile status at an IV unit, except for 'consular notes'. DoS Hotline won't give you that. DoS and IV Units share the same computer network.

I not understand the question, so I am gonna bow out, sorry.

if the network was down what happens

Ron. The consulate is not obliugated to give Senators any precise or even correct information. They give a vague answer which means nothing. NO I have never heard of that problem BUT if it were the case then NO ONE would be getting a visa, are you kidding me?

They blew smoke up your Senators tailpipe. He is not going to get a more precise answer because they di not have to give one.

Your case is in AP. The visa will be printed when the AP is finished satisfactorily and Sveta will be notified.

you know something gary you have some axx i see many posts from you even for other posters you are very rude and a know it all. atleast it was alittle hope but then comes along gary

Seems you had an attorney that did not bother to tell you that you needed to report and document ALL your marriages, but "I" have some "axx"? Perhaps you prefer information from someone that doesn't know anything?

You want the truth? Or BS? Your lawyer and your Senator are getting plenty of BS and passing it along to you, you don't need any more from me. Speaking the truth is not rude. Giving false hope is rude. And insulting.

Your case will be completed and Sveta will get her visa, unless there is something she isn't telling you, I doubt it. Most likely it is being held up waiting for some verificaion or some document from Ukrainian authorities who don't care about your timeline and the US authorties won't bribe them for a quick response like you or I would. I can't tell you when, neither can the Senator.

When you are in AP there is no time limit as to when it will be finished, it's done when it's done. If you ask me how I know, my husband had AP and it was finished in 9 weeks. At no point did ANYONE ever give us a time that it would be complete, they merely tell you when it;s done we will contact you and nothing that you, or your elected officials can do to bypass or expedite it. Now this business with so called computers being down and they can;t print a visa is bull, if that were the case NO ONE, not one person would receive their visas. Bottom line is you just have to wait until they complete their work, end of story.

That's my vote......can't believe that some high priced attorney would have screwed up a simple visa case.

I even did it myself and I'm no lawyer; I just read the instructions and blindly followed them.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

tbone and baron i am happy know someone understands ...

Ron, you need to slide your sarcasm meter 3 clicks to the left. Momichki, Boge moy!

All I can say is, good luck, Ron. You have been trying to shovel sh*t in the tide since you dropped the I-129f in the mail. The visa is the beginning, not the end. It starts the process of your journey, it does not end it. You are going to be doing this for a long time, about 4 years, and the frustrations are endless. Endless. In addition to USCIS, you are going to deal with incompetent SS office clerks, incompetent DMV clerks, incomeptent college admission office clerks, incompetent bank tellers, even incompetent passport office clerks when she becomes a citizen. None of them have a clue, not a clue, what to do when someone does not check the "Yes" box to "Are you a US citizen?" They have no idea what to do, but they will make it up as they go along and stomp all over Sveta's rights and privileges. You haven't seen anything yet.

And who will you call? Your worthless attorney? Your Senator? When Sveta takes her citizenship test maybe you will learn something about how our country works. Senators make LAWS, they are in the legislative branch. The DOS is in the executive branch. This means that unless someone at the DOS is breaking the lawcreated by the legislative branch they can tell the Senator to take a flying jump of a cliff! Because they are diplomats they will do so...diplomatically. When you go to get her SSN and the dumb@ss clerk tells someone with a green card that they "need a new visa, this ine is expired" :o like they did to Sergey, YOU are going to be the one that has to say "NO, he does not, it says so right here in YOUR instructions...get me a spupervisor" What would you do when the DMV clerk tells a green card holder than entered on a K-2 that they need to "show proof of getting married" :o No sh*t. Tells a K-2 (TWO, not 1) that you "have to get married before you can get a drivers license" :o

The Senator will not be getting any more substanstial an answer than the BS he already got. If BS and sarcasm makes you feel all warm and fuzzy...you will do fine with this process and Sveta will still be waiting for a drivers license and SS card 4 years from now.

Learn what you need to learn while you are waiting. There are tons of threads here, lots of forums all about what you need to know when Sveta arrives.

To be quite honest, if this were happening to Alla and I was spending all my time trying to get BS "answers" from anyone who did NOT know what was going on, rather than preparing for her arrival, preparing our home, applying for education grants, investigating education opportunities, choosing ceramic tile and sending her photos of it in email, priming all the walls in the house so she could choose paint colors when she arrived...I think she would say "Never mind Gary, have a good life"
