Ok i have completed everything that my wife needs to do to get her immigrant Cr1 visa.IM a US citizen and she is a Filipina. She will be going to manila in about a month to go to her interview. She will be bringing all the required documents to the interview and will attend a visa medical examination at st. lukes hospital prior to the interview. My daughter was born 20 days ago and as such was not mentioned on any of the paperwork ive completed thus far in our visa journey, because i was told not to mention a child that was not born yet. Should my wife go to her interview and get her visa then go back to mindinao and start preparing for the Certificate of Birth Abroad forms and interview? OR must she bring our daughter to the interview and let them know about her and try to squeeze in a CRBA interview while shes there? IM thinking that might be to much stress on my wife for one time. Can we just proceed with the interview and take care of our daughters paperwork later? Will she get in trouble later for going to her visa interview and not telling that she gave birth recently? If shes asked she wont deny it i just want to know if i can save the CRBA process till after my wife gets her visa so i have a chance to fly over there and be there for my childs interview as i will not be able to attend my wifes interview for work reasons at this time.

It's not difficult at all to drop off the CRBA application at the same time she's having the interview. There's a couple of hours waiting where she could get this done. In fact she could go ahead and mail all the required documents in advance of her interview.

It is entirely up to you and your wife as to if she wraps up her visa/interview process prior to dealing with the process of securing the CRBA for your daughter. Yes you can proceed with the

CRBA process after your wife gets her visa.

There is no requirement that your daughter be with your wife on the day of her visa interview, nor can your wife "...try to squeeze in a CRBA interview" on the day of her interview.

The CRBA interview requires a separate appointment.

Your wife will not get her visa before the CRBA is approved. They take CRBA very seriously- at my spousal visa interview, the ONLY thing the CO asked about in detail is the twins and whether they had their CRBA appointment yet.

At the very least, make the appointment for the CRBA before your wife has her interview, so she can say she is waiting for the CRBA appointment.

My wife had my child in the Philippines 21 Days ago, in a month shes going to have her visa interview, can she get a Certificate of Birth Abroad at the time of the interview? Is it not that big a process. Are they going to charge her tons of money for a DNA test? If they ask for a DNA will they put off her visa interview till shes done with it? Should she pay a family member to be a sitter while she goes to manila and just go her self? Can she get one of those certificates without the child in hand? Would they make her come back with the baby if it was back with her family and stop the visa interview till that was finished?

Let her do have an interview first,if she get approve, you can fly to manila and your wife with your child, and apply for CRBA and passport.bring all the requirements, they dont ask for the DNA if you are there.

We BOTH had to be present and sign for our daughter's CRBA. I'm not sure how you can do it without being physically present. I'm sure there must be a way, but I don't know what it is. You cannot get it during the interview, you must have a separate appointment and pay the separate fees and fill out all the forms. If you are married, there is a smaller chance that they will ask for a DNA test, but be prepared for it considering that you were not physically present for the whole pregnancy and birth. Good luck!!

I had my daughter in Sweden a couple of months before my interview. I could not register her birth at the same time as the interview, you will need to book an appointment for that. My husband was not able to come with me and its not necessary but there is a lot of paper work to be done on your end. For example you have to prove with the right documents that you have lived in the USA for a certain number of years even though you are us citizen. Get on it!

They will not ask for DNA, unless they have other rules for different parts of the world.

And the baby must be there for the registration of birth!

They will not ask for DNA

DNA tests are not uncommon so sweeping comments like yours doesn't help the OP. The OP is young, he should prepare for the CRBA and a DNA test to prevent delays in reunifying his family

You could always try and call and explain your situation to the Embassy, but you will probably have to wit in line most likely.
