Was hard to see that things started going south for you, but it appears your resourcefulness has paid off and you are delayed, but back on track  Maybe to relive some stress, at least for her, schedule her medical and get that done and as soon as she gets the certificate, you can get the interview scheduled. Even with a 2 week set back, your timeline is WAY ahead of mine

Thanks. Man, I feel drained. One of our problems is that she has a job that is very demanding and it's difficult for her to take time off. Just the fact that she has to be somewhere causes stress for her. It's the main reason why I don't visit...she just has no time. But this should do it...two police certificates (Ukraine and Argentina), medical exam certificate, and we're in business. I called NVC last Friday and they told me that they'd already received the package from CSC, so this Friday I'll check to see if it's made its way to the embassy yet.

What a way to live....

Well, my fellow VJ'ers, it happened.

My fiancee lives in Kiev and, because she was in Buenos Aires for nine months in 2000, she has to provide a police certificate from Argentina.

Today she called the Argentinian embassy in Kiev and was told that it takes a year. And she doesn't want to wait any more. We've already been through NOA1, NOA2, NVC....and she is stressed out. And so am I.

It doesnt help that when I turned on the news this morning the lead story was that children of illegal immigrants are lining up to register for their "amnesty" program.

I can't even say how horrible this is.

Hi:

My wife and I needed a document for visa approval that we could not get online and in a different state in Brazil. Instead of traveling there we googled an attorney. He responded and was able to gather this document for us within two weeks. Of course there is a payment involved but having someone or a person there in the neighborhood so to speak to help you obtain the necessary documentation is so beneficial to have.

I hope this helps.

Bob

Doees everybody need a police certificate? Or only if you were arrested? Now I am confused.

This is for the beneficiary, at the interview stage:

"Applicants need to present a police clearance certificate from each country in which they have lived outside of <INSERT COUNTRY OF RESIDENCE> for more than one year since reaching the age of sixteen."

UPDATE

The Argentine embassy in Kiev provided my fiancee with the name of a law firm in Argentina that they have worked with in the past. I sent them an email and received a message back that this can be handled within a few weeks. Hopefully. Just so everyone has this info, here's the scoop:

Fiancee goes to embassy, signs a proxy that is countersigned by a consular officer authorizing the attorney to act on her behalf; then gets fingerprinted and signs the fingerprint card; then makes copies of the info pages from her passport and the embassy certifies the copies.

These items are then transmitted to the attorney, either electronically if the embassy has the ability, or by courier.

The attorney then goes to the ministry of justice and obtains the police certificate; my understanding is that it is provided online. The materials are returned to my fiancee via FedEx or DHL. She goes online and prints the certificate.

The cost of this entire process is 290 Euros. Not bad.

Hey Congrats and way to do your due diligence. May VJ peeps being handlin their business for real.
