The Service Centers take turns at being "the slowest Service Center of them all". In September 2011, I filed my first petition. It took 6 months to hear from California. I just filed a couple more at California in April. It's been averaging about 3 months now which would put me at hearing something at the end of this month. I am very much aware that any day now (and for all I know, it may have already happened?!?!) things could switch and I could be back on the track to waiting 6 months!

No one knows what will happen, until it happens. It's an awful process and thank god we are (mostly) all strong enough to get through this!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

HUSBAND'S CASE

9/17/2011 - sent I-13

09/19/2011 - noa1 received

3/16/2012 - case sent to my local USCIS office for additional processing

9/20/2012 - Interview scheduled - October 3!!!!

10/3/2012 - Interview went well but she must look at his A-file more before decision.

10/12/2012 - I-130 APPROVED! APPROVED! APPROVED!

Even if its only 1%, i paid my 350 bucks too. I just want consistancy which it seems i will never get so oh well. I like to vent too. I dont wanta wait 6+ months while someone else only has to wait 4. Thats not right

Totally agree and I absolutely "love" replies like this one:

I was at 162 days (at the VSC). So don't worry; your time is coming, I'm sure of it!

when someone is approved within/around the 5 months time and tell others that their time will come... well we all know our time WILL come, we would like to know WHEN and also WHY some people are approved earlier for others having to wait 6months +!

I am not picking on you @Linds&Youssef , all I am saying is that this is so unfair that it makes me wanna scream!

aam, how did you get your k1 approved in 81 days. When the rest of us are going on 150-170 days. I thought they processed these applications according when they are received.

And you have the nerve to tell us to hang in there.........

It is nice here to have everyone's support. I did not mean to start an argument. Just venting. They should be supported by tax dollars. My tax dollars support the Welfare agencies...why not agencies that assist taxpayers? If not, I would rather them double the fee and hire some more staff. Enough on that.

My Fiance and I are at 159 days from NOA1. We are very excited and hopeful it will be soon. I hope everyone else is approved soon as well.

Congrats Linds&yousef!!!!!!! 162 is close for me...Thanks for the hope

I fully agree! I didn't mean for this to turn into an argument either. I know it is very stressful waiting to be with your loved one, venting can help you feel a little better about it. I just wanted to point out that taxes don't make any difference.

You will be approved before you know it! Soon this will be a distant memory. :)

I so agree with you. CSC has already approved many March filers and others with older dates haven't even been looked at by VSC. As soon as mine reaches the 5month mark I'm calling my Congressman. Luckily I had already started the conversation with them. They said to call them back if I don't get my NOA2 by month 5. I agree this is so unfair. They should have ONE system that files are pulled from so that people who were just unfortunate to get VSC during their slow time don't get passed over because CSC is faster.

180 days here...It appears a group of petitions from the middle of January fell into a black hole that formed in Vermont Service Center. Those with a NOA1 date of 1/20 had one of the worst rates of approval ever to be seen at VSC. It's literally a hole in Igor's list. The week of NOA1s directly following this date also have very sporadic levels of approval...It's a complete enigma...But when you go down the list, it all starts with 1/20...I hope VSC will stop tormenting us soon...I used to pray that I wouldn't wait 170-75 days. That used to seem like a long time..This is a nightmare...

I would actually suggest to do that after you pass 6 months mark... unfortunately 5 months processing time according to USCIS = 5 months + 30 days... after 6 months , congressman can have your case expedited, or so they claim in an official USCIS letter....

look, here is the deal with VSC...it is located in a very, very rural part of an already rural state....sort of like on the edge of civilization, the last outpost before the great darkness, the end of the road, where the sun don't shine no more, etc....you get my drift.

there is no way you could ever convince me that they can find competent employees there...I am sure they're good at something, like maybe building igloos or inbreeding...but paperwork obviously is not their forte.

plus, year last, they suffered great flooding (even Providence is disgusted with them) that cut off all their connections with the outside world, cut roads, no electricity, no communications....and they lost what little vestiges of civilization they had....not that in their inbred condition they actually noticed.

also, their broken computer system is totally, and I mean totally, beyond repair.

How many work there?....800 or so...?....we as a people would be better off putting all of them on permanent welfare, a station in life the local denizen are familiar and comfortable with, and moving the entire operation closer to civilization.....like Boston or someplace.
