I'd really like some info on this topic.

I'm trying to get my conditional status of my residency removed (came in on a K1 Visa). After the biometrics and evidence was sent, I got a request for more evidence. I sent more, just about everything but tax returns, and was notified today that my petition is being forwarded to San Francisco for an interview to be scheduled.

Naturally, I'm crestfallen and a little worried. Anyone know how long it takes for an interview to be scheduled and how one should prepare? Should I make sure all our bills our in our joint name? Any and all advice would be great.

No reason to worry about the interview. Some are done randomly.

Interview time is based on what time the local office gives you - if they are busy, if they aren't, what they have available etc.

What all have you sent already? if you could make a list it might help people think of other things instead of re-listing stuff you already provided.

( why no tax returns? These are quite important for joint living / co-mingling lives )

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

You need evidence spanning your marriage not just the last 3 months. We sent mail addressed to both if us, joint utility bills, tax returns, basically anything showing we are together. In spite of a ton of evidence we still had an interview. It took over 2 months to get approved following the interview. Good luck!

I submitted bank statements for three months, car insurance info, wedding info, a gas bill, wedding pictures and travel documents. If there are better documents, please, let me know. Most of the house stuff is in the wife's name alone, however.

Don't worry. I am in the same situation.

They told me my app is going to be processed together with my N-400 after I contacted my congressman. I'm 20 somewhat days away from 1-year mark of my ROC.

Bottom line, if you are lucky it should be done in timely manner. Otherwise do what I do, put in a Service Request by 9-10th month mark, wait for response. If no response received then get hold of your congressman.

USCIS is ran by trolls and monkeys.

It's now a way of delaying the workload.

"What an impressive packet! But too bad we are still 24 months behind in the process line. Oh well, RFE it is. You gotta stall them anyway you can, besides this should be fun to see them panic! Now time to take my tax-payer sponsored vacation LOL."

Steve D., you said it very well. I think this is a very accurate description of what goes on at those offices. :)

Jay with all respect man you didn't send enough proof of communal residence and commingled finances, you sent bank statements just from the last 3 months? have to send statement spanning the last two years, utilities bill in name of both if possible, tax return, lease agreement, financial documents showing joint ownership,Insurance policies showing both of your names on them etc... Gather more proof to show them , and have some NOTARIZED affidavits from friends in the USA and family stating your relationship is genuine.Good luck.
