we didnt have a real honeymoon since he couldnt leave USA but once approved. we are going to Brazil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. its such a beautiful country

if we can go there then i guess Colombia.

We married on Aug 24, 2013 in a small ceremony in MA

We'll be applying for a CR1 / IR1 visa as soon as we are able

We are having a mini honeymoon in Bhimtal, India. It's beautiful and K knows the area quite well.

For our big Indian wedding we were thinking of going to the Andaman Islands.

American wedding, not so sure yet. We'll see how much money we have left after 3 weddings! Whew!

I'll be happy anywhere even if it ends up being a "stay-cation". :)

What about NY, DC, Chicago...? Lots to do in those cities and they can be very romantic too!

I live in Chicago :) If anyone wants any advice on where to go or what's romantic, I can certainly help. I know my guy loved it here :)

We haven't talked about it at all yet, so I have no idea if there will be someplace specific he has his heart set on going once we get to that point. If not, I'd just as soon spend a few days somewhere local --maybe some sort of romantic B&B in New England?-- and save the extra money for a bigger trip later after all the dust settles. After the stress and excitement of planning the wedding, I'm probably not going to be really keen on embarking on an epic voyage immediately, plus there will be out-of-town friends/family in town so we're probably not even going to want to leave right away.

Feb. 4, 2013: AOS packet sent (delivered 2/6, NOA1 text/email & check cashed 2/11 midnight)

Feb. 11, 2013: NOA1 notice date for I-485, EAD, AP (I-485/EAD NOA1 hard copies & biometrics appt letter arrived 2/16, badly mangled AP NOA1 arrived 2/27; biometrics done 3/4/13)

Apr. 3, 2013: EAD & AP approved (received card 4/11)

Aug. 16, 2013: I-485 approved & green card production ordered!!!! (card arrived 8/26/13) (193 days)

Sept. 24, 2020: oath ceremony, Boston---DONE!!! (279 days from submission)

We talked about the sooner vs later aspect and decided that for us it's best to take the honeymoon while he can't work. That way only one of us is losing time from work. Since I own my own practice, I don't get paid time off and he's a teacher so any vacation time when he is working would be on a school break = Disney hell lol.
