Anthony Weiner's "Weinergate": Did He Tweet a NSFW Picture to a College Girl?

Last night, Anthony Weiner may or may not have purposefully tweeted a picture of his boxer-clad erect ####### to a college girl in Washington state. Well, the @RepWeiner account certainly did tweet it, but Weiner is saying he's been hacked. The girl in question is reportedly one Gennette Cordova, a journalism student. The ####### tweet was deleted soon after its posting, so click through for the picture. NSFW, I suppose, although it's really quite demure as ####### shots go.

WEINERGATE: Anthony Weiner Won't Deny Underwear Twitter Pic Was Of Him

anthony-weiner.jpg

The Weinergate saga did not end with the weekend.

Some background: Over the long weekend the blogosphere was all fired up over a tweet sent out from Rep. Anthony Weiner's verified account that contained a picture of a bulging underwear-clad #######.

Shortly thereafter Weiner claimed his account had been hacked and brushed the incident off, telling Politico "the Weiner gags never get old, I guess."

Andrew Breitbart's site Big Government, which caught the tweet before it was deleted, reported it was directed to a female college student in Seattle. That student, Gennette Nicole Cordova, later issued a long statement denying, among other things, that she was involved with the (newly married) Congressman.

So far, just another slow news weekend.

But then CNN (and now others) got a hold of Weiner on camera, and the congressman appears to have thrown some fuel on the fire with his non-denial denial.

"I'm not going to talk about this anymore. If I was giving a speech to 45,000 people and there was a heckler in the back I wouldn't spend three days discussing it."

He further directed the reporters to refer the statements his office had issued over the weekend.

Which is all well and good -- presumably both Weiner and the media have other things to do. But, also? Please.

Perhaps someone should reintroduce Weiner to the cablesphere/internet, which has turned speculation into a billion dollar industry. Providing a grey area is rarely-to-never a good plan...unless you possess the media genius of Sarah Palin (who, by the way, would have already provided an awesome explanation for this if it had happened to her).

The only question now is how long till Weiner is forced to hold a press conference about a twit pic of a under-clad #######? Twenty-four hours? Forty-eight? Considering CNN just dredged up Andrew Breitbart to talk about it one imagines a nice live interview on Piers Morgan tonight, or the like, might not be a bad idea.
