well, I guess this is what happens when retards somehow get visas.

Calm down. Things happen. At best, it will not matter, at worst you would get a reissued one; just a matter of time. First hand experience here.

also I really really need for my sanity a better answer than i invalidated my visa after precisely 1/2 an hour of owning it. I absoluely am wallowing in self hatred.

You have received a better answer over and over again but refuse to listen. Contact the Embassy/Consulate and explain what happened. If the visa needs to be reissued, they will reissue it within days. No need for hysterical ranting.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Kathryn it's not possible either to contact the consulate, they only have a really expensive phoneine where you ring and themn they give you a code for an email that bounces back a message saying "we'll respond in 3-5 days" well I can't last that long. I literally can't.

Things destroyed this week through spitting/spilling stuff on them= Macbook Air keyboard, US visa. What else?

Not possible to simply contact the consulate :(

It's possible. You just don't want to wait for a response. That kind of attitude is surely going to get you nowhere fast.

I'm unsure what other answer you're looking for. Would you like someone here to print off a new Visa for you? Don't think anyone here has the power to do that. Looks like you're gonna either wait 3-5 days, or you do nothing. Your choice. Depends what this Visa means to you, I guess.

I'm going to do my best to ignore the ignorant use of the word "retarded"

Hi. No really. I am down as "learning difficulties" in my med records. I am mentally intelligent but functionally stupid. I do clumsy, stupid things all the time, poor memory, make dumb mistakes.

What does this boil down to? After years of being on disability, I do have a job. But my parents and my ex husband were convinced I'll never hold one down. Every tiny mistake made=I think I'm stupid. I get told off at work, I've told them to stop telling me off because I know I'll do it again and I basically can't learn. Stuff like "you put the ham in the cupboard not the fridge. You signed the wrong box on the med sheet. You dropped this thing, then didn't notice and left it for me to clean up. You broke this cup." Almost a daily occurance. I'm a good faker, probably I don't know because I don't know how much longer I could have gone without being fired. Irony is I was given this job because they thought my "success" was a good example for the people I mentor. I'm a mentor for the mentally disabled. I am diagnosed mentally disabled. No it has not been easy to get this visa.

I call myself this because my ex husband said "the USA will never give a visa to a retard like you" and it's been ringing in my ears since I left him. And they did give me a visa, but I wrecked it. My parents are now saying I should not have been allowed to physically have the visa til last minute. The brown "do not open envelope"? I don't have it. They would not give it to me, because they thought I'd damage it.

Have a bubble bath and a glass of wine :innocent: (valium is optional)

Relax.

Then write a list of your options (not including "give up")

You have to make your own luck. If you keep beating yourself up you'll never get a thing done and you'll keep feeling like #######. You KNOW what needs to be done so DO it. Don't think about being called names or breaking ######. As us Canadians say: Get 'er done.

pulled key that was jammed off macbook air, washed in fairy liquid, put it back on no more jamming. Only managed to achieve this because right now a £1000 computer doesn't matter any more so if I'd broke the key who the heck cares. Been bothering me all week because I spilled coke on it. No I haven't really cared, just a niggle unlike this stupid piece of paper that if they really wanted to the US Embassy could issue in no time for free off their flaming inkjet printer. Would love to introduce them to my dye sublimation and its plastic veneer it puts on the final image to I don't know, make things waterproof.

Been to airport today, the desk for continental airlines who manage United airlines (who I am travelling with) at Manchester said they would accept the passport with visa. US border control say that as long as I got in at the airport they would let me through, but I might experience a delay while they check the details on my visa. USCIS say as long as facial features are not obscured I should be OK. According to all the information I've seen from various US embassies across the world, they are almost certainly going to tell me though that I need a new visa. It's a nice bit of cash for them and it stops them having to be specific about anything - ie. while minor damage might be fine they don't want to say so so they say "ANY damage=your visa is invalid."

I am going to book a refundable flight with an open return because that seems like a better scenario than waiting another month for an interview, and yes it WILL be the case as I finally found out the US embassy in Delhi forced somebody on a lost immigrant visa to redo the interview - was not a simple case of asking for a reprint.

Though I don;t know how I'm going to react when the London embassy finally email back with "that's terrible damage, you need a new visa."

Probably going to panic again.

You'll be fine. My visa which has some water splotches on it from being wet during a river boat ride in Bangkok, Thailand. The immigration officer in Detroit (POE) asked me why and how it came to the splotches but after I explained what happened he okay and let me through without anymore questions.

Good luck,

Hi, please plewase can you respond to my personal message I sent I need to know if yours had as much damage as mine, I have sent you the picture, I really am nt coping because neither the embassy nor the laywer I used are responding and the premium rate line is just giving a recorded message again, I can barely get through each day bevcause of the law on this, the law stating that I have to redo the visa because they to NOT reissue visas, I am dying over this mentally, can you please help me because I know the last thing I can do is redo this visa, it has been torture I cannot go though it again.

" © Duplicate visas issued within the validity period of the original visa. If the validity of a visa previously issued has not yet terminated and the original visa has been lost or mutilated, a duplicate visa may be issued containing all of the information appearing on the original visa, including the original issuance and expiration dates. The applicant shall execute a new application and provide copies of the supporting documents submitted in support of the original application.

The alien must pay anew the application processing fees prescribed in the Schedule of Fees. In issuing a visa under this paragraph, the consular officer shall insert the word DUPLICATE on Form OF155A before the word IMMIGRANT in the title of the visa."

I CANNOT DO IT AGAIN. SOMEBODY PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME.
