Levi received his NOA's for EAD, AOS, and AP yesterday dated January 22, 2009. We tried to check the USCIS website but couldn't find any info online. Is that the correct place to look for this?

Yes but it could take several weeks to get into the system

Ok thanks. The letters at the beginning of his numbers weren't the same as the examples so wasn't sure I did it right.

MSCXXXXXXXXXX ?

Yep

MSC = National Benefits Center or sometimes referred to as the Missouri Service Center

YMMV

That does not matter. You can apply for a SSN. Work authorization is something different. Read the guide on getting a SSN. you have to know the facts before you go in b/c some of the SSA workers dont and will try to deny you. We got my hubby a SSN no prob. It says right on it, not for work without DHS authorization, or something to that effect.

Work authorization is the only thing that matters..

A K-1 is eligible for work authorized for first 90 days and is eligible to apply for a SSN form day 1 to day 76 of entry.. beyond that a K-1 is precluded from applying for a SSN until EAD or GC..

A K-3 is not eligible until EAD or GC. Period.

A tourist who is applying for status adjustment as the result of a marriage to a USC is not eligible for SSN until EAD or GC. Period.

Hi everyone, i have some questions about the AOS process that i am hoping that you guys will be able to help me out with so my husband alfredo can get his green card.

On the form I-485, the instructions in USCIS say that i need to attack a copy of fiance pettion approval notice, is that the letter that i got in the mail that reads "Dear petitioner: The state department's natinal visa center has recently received an approved -129F petition filed on behalf of your fiance. THis letter is to lt you know that within a week the petition will be forwarded to the appropriate visa-issuing post where your visa interview will take place." And then it lists my husbands name, the INS receipt number, the case number, and where the case will be processed at. Is that the letter that they want a copy of? If not, can anybody give me a clue as to what they want????

It also said that i have to include a form of I-94, that is the page in alfredo's passport right? I just need to copy it... right???

"Tall, dark and handsome with an amazing smile. He gave me butterflies every time he looked my way. I knew he was the one."- Me
