Hi Cr1 filers who eagerly await for NOA2 :)

Just a quick question to you all. Did you guys submit a love story as one of the supporting documents upon filing the petition? I know the K-1 visa asks of it but in Cr-1 visa, it's not a must. So, I just wonder if you guys also submit it. USCIS might wonder how this love story began and came into marriage. :)

Thanks folks! :) God bless our petitions!!!

Nope, didn't submit anything like that.

We did use to live together, which we stated on one of the forms, can't remember which one right now.

Gotta say your picture with the fireworks in the background is stunning.

Good Luck and I hope you have a speedy VJ!

Some filers for Guangzhou submit an 'evolution of relationship' letter on initial submittal, with an updated version on interview day.

Some HCMC filers submit a 'timeline' on initial submittal, again on interview day.

But, as to a 'love letter' ?? Oh My.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Just asking cause K1 visa are required to narrate their love story.

The K1 is a different category, does not have the same requierments as the CR-1, no need for the "love-story".

It's more about tangible evidence.

If it helps to prove that your relationship is bona fide and if you are thin on evidence it may be worthwhile.

Embassies can differ in their expectations. The higher the rate of fraud, the more you need to prove K1, CR1, tourist, etc.

Just asking cause K1 visa are required to narrate their love story.

The Philippines consulate requires it, the K1 visa does not. Australia doesn't either

Agreed. Australia is a low-fraud consulate so no "love story" is required. Philippines is high-fraud.

Strictly speaking, an EOR, timeline, love story, etc. are not required. However, people submit them as along with their evidence of their applicable relationship. As others have posted, sometime it depends on the embassy or consulate where the interview is taking place.

OP: First of all, congratulations to you both and best wishes on your life together! Secondly, I noticed in your signature timeline you submitted an I-129F after your I-130. FYI: Chances are the USCIS will approve them both at the same time and send them both to the NVC. Once the NVC receives them, they will administratively close the I-129F for the K3 visa, which will only leave the I-130 for the CR-1 active.

I submitted something like a 'evolution of relationship' letter with mine. Really, just a simple timeline (when and how we met, when we became a couple, when I visited, when we got engaged..etc) just to explain the evidence I was providing. Figured it might be extra fluff, but if they had any questions about what they were looking at, it was my hope that this short (2/3 page timeline letter) would explain it. Really, I don't know if it did any good or not. Good luck!

Yea, we didn't know at that time. We just followed what our friend did also. It won't hurt if we are going for Cr-1 :) Thanks!

Cause we prepared a love story long time ago. Just in case it is a requirement cause the one who adviced us to make one but she was on a K1 visa. We will be sending the expedite letter and supporting documents which the USCIS asked us to do on Tuesday. We might send along the love story thing. Haha.
