Well I finally feel like I am a member of the club now. Just sent in our petition today. I used Fred Wahl at Fiancee Visa Services. Great service, great communication and a very professional package he put together. One thing that we both liked was that Fred put up a private web page that both I and May (in China) could access and review as we put our petition together.

Now we wait.

I know I could have done it myself for free. But I chose to hire a professional because I did not want to risk making any mistakes, and I wanted it done right - the first time.

The package should've gone to Texas, as per the instructions on the USCIS website. It will likely be forwarded there once Vermont receives it. Unfortunately, the person preparing your package didn't catch that. It might delay you a few days but shouldn't be an issue.

Thanks to all for the well wishes. I paid...$695 for the full boat and I believe it's well worth it. It took us about 6 weeks to submit our petition once I hired Fiancee Visa Services. I would also say, that I had talked to them late last year and they gave me some critical free advice on how to proceed at that point. They also have been doing this for so long, that they really know how to construct a compelling petition. I had called and talked to many attorneys and agencies before deciding on Fiancee Visa Services. I had also done a BBB check on them and they had Zero complaints, unlike some others.

I don't want to sound like a commercial for them, I just hope others find this information helpful.

I 100% understand hiring someone if you have the resources to do so. Even if just for a little more peace of mind (if you don't feel confident in the process) while you wait for months on end. I've done a lot of research on hiring someone & it seems like you got a pretty good deal (relatively speaking) and you feel confident. Good news!

Thanks for posting the information regarding the service you utilized, the announcement regarding the change to filing I-129F petitions was made in June; however, given postings I have seen about people who sent off their petitions to the service center and then noticed the change to the lockbox facility in Texas, the June announcement may not have been that well publicized. With that being said, I would expect a professional service to look for announcements like that and keep their customers up to date, especially with the amount of money people pay them.

I know you are happy with the package they prepared for you. However, IMO, knowing where to send it is important and the fact that they did not know or did not relay that information to you concerns me.

The Service Center will simply forward any petition it receives to the lockbox facility from now until mid-September. After that time, it will be returned to you with the instructions to send it to the lockbox facility.
