Good news today hearing the automated recording at NVC say something like "your packet has been received. It will take 6-8 weeks to review. Then you will be notified." A tiny step closer in a very long journey.

BTW, does anyone know if that means we will get the interview date in 6-8 weeks, or that it will just be sent onto the consulate?

Thanks.

Hello Mintchip! The AVR always says they will let you know half a century later just to cover their behinds if you don't hear from them sooner than that. It shouldn't take that long. They generally take a week or two to give you a SIF/CC. Maybe they will be nice and finish in time for you to get an August interview!

Waiter. You are about right. The main reason was I couldn´t gather enough evidence to prove residency time.

You will get your case number this week and I hope so do I. As son as I call and get an answer from NVC I´ll let you know.

WAITER. I don´t have good news either, I just called NVC and the answer was my case has not arrived or made a mistake. Listen to Teya, probably tomorrow you will get your case number. There is no reason to freak out.

I´ll call NVC tomorrow night. Good luck.

Thank you, Teya! An August interview would be a miracle. Unfortunately, I also know we are going to need to file a I-601 waiver, so this is long from over. But, I am grateful for every step closer. :)

Just called the NVC (got through at the first time and didn't even have to wait to have an operator talk to me, woo). But they said they haven't "recieved" anything yet. Neither AoS (delivered tuesday last week), nor DS-230 (delivered this tuesday).

I hate waiting. Also she couldn't tell me a timeframe for how long it takes these days to get the paperwork up from the mailroom and to the actual person working on the case.

How did you send your packages? Was there a tracking number? What date is shown as delivered by the tracking number? (You may already know this stuff.) It takes the operators at NVC about 1 + weeks to 'see'your package. I think we were counting 10-14 business days from the date our tracking number showed, not the date NVC will show them as received, to calcualte LIF/SIF with no RFE's.

(And I always called before 7:30 eastern time, it is the only time I could get thru on the first try!)

My husband sent the AoS overnight and it showed as delivered on tuesday last week. I sent the DS-230 package express and it was delivered and signed for by K PETERS on tuesday.

So the packages are there, they just havent "recieved" them yet or entered them in the system.

What do you mean by "showed"? You mean showed as in seeing it as deliverd on the USPS/UPS website?

Ugh I always forget to count in business days, not regular days. ^_^

And now with Independence Day coming up... even longer the wait. :( Or is it? Cause my husband has a long weekend because of that. Or is it just because he's army?

msd- The 4th will be taken off by NVC for sure (whether that means today or they will delay it until Monday, who knows). That will def play into when they review your documents and all of that good stuff. Hopefully they don't make you wait too long!

C'mon more good news from NVC!

It took 2 weeks for them to even open our 230 package! And unfortunately I think its busier now than it was in April. This process is toooo long!

But hang in there, I did. And we finally got an interview in Aug!

Count the days from when they were physically delivered, not the date NVC will give you as them being received. As for 'shown' - when you call in, the operators pull your case up in their system. If the information that your package was delivered has not been input into their system, the operators don't 'see' that it is there. (AVR is generally behind on updates like that). The mail room is evidently a large cavern several miles below the data input room, and the drudge that has to carry each individual package up there - one at a time - (walking - uphill - thru the snow) takes about 7 to 10 days to get there. (That doesn't mean your paperwork is not being reviewed, by the way.)

Seriously, I know they get tons, literally I am sure, of mail daily. I wouldn't want the job.
