Hey everybody, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I have to do my tax returns and I usually do them online however I was wondering if that would be a problem if they need proof of my tax returns? My Mother is our sponsor and has done hers online for years too.

Thanks in advance!

Either print the returns or order free transcripts from the IRS.

Order the free tax transcripts from the IRS. Those are better than the tax returns.

Thanks both of you for the quick response. Where can I get these free transcripts from exactly? Thanks again.

Nevermind, I found them on the IRS website. My computer was glitching, lol. Now, I am completing the form now, but question 6 asks which transcript I would like to request. I am unsure which one I would like?

Bump! I really need an answer to this, if someone could please help; I would appreciate it very much, I'm quite confused and fretting over this right now. Thanks again in advance.

Not a problem. I did mine online and printed them off the website and attached the w-2s. You can, as mentioned, also order free transcripts from the IRS

You should order the most recent transcripts, if that is what you are asking. If you will be filing your K-1 application soon, consider getting copies of current (2009) tax returns ready to include with your processing. A copy of your tax return along with copies of W-2's is usually sufficient to prove financial ability. You can always wait to provide your fiance(ee) with the most recent tax returns to bring with him/her at the visa interview later.

Call 1-800-829-1040 and request the last three years TAX TRANSCRIPTS. My husband did that today and it should take about a week or so to get them we're told. No need to fill in the form.

If you do the IRS transcripts, the instructions advise that you do not need to attached W2's, 1099's or the schedule.

I just ordered my IRS tax return transcripts, but I wanted to be 100 percent sure on this.

-- Since I am sending the IRS TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPTS, I do NOT need to send my W2's in aswell, correct?

Also, I only began working in 2008, so I only have 2 years worth of tax returns. Is this okay & if not, should I request evidence that I did NOT file any taxes for 2007 from the IRS?

Thanks in advance.

Correct. The transcripts has all the info they need.

My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

When I send him this year's (2009) tax return, should I only send a photocopy of my W2 or the actual W2? Thank you in advance.

Also - I have only worked 2 years & I see most people saying to send 3 years worth. Should I get evidence from the IRS that I did NOT file taxes in 2007?
