My Advice is usually based on "Worst Case Scenario" and what is written in the rules/laws/instructions. That is the way I roll... -Protect your Status - file before your I-94 expires.

Oh my! What an extremely long wait. I also have waited a little over a year from beginning to end of this process. So glad it is almost over! Congrats to you! Enjoy your lives together! Pray for all of us still waiting to get the visa in our loved ones hands!
