Could you guys help me with the major POE's in America? I have heard that Atlanta is the worst... what are the other POE's? Or, is ANY international airport considered a POE?

If you could... please help me to list them all here in this thread... thanks guys!

Lynne, anywhere that international flights can land is a POE.

We came into Honolulu, which is not even listed as a POE in the timeline list! :huh:

03-02-06: NOA2

03-23-06: Interview Date May 16

05-17-06: K-1 Visa Issued

05-20-06: Arrived at POE, Honolulu

08-14-06: Mailed I-485 to Chicago

08-24-06: NOA for I-485

09-08-06: Biometrics Appointment

09-25-06: I-485 transferred to CSC

atlanta ain't that bad, at least they have smoking rooms in the airport. dfw you have to go outside

I came in through Dallas Fort Worth and it was an absolute doddle :thumbs: I have read the same from others, so seeing as you're in Texas, I'd go with DFW

translation... doddle = piece of cake, walk in the park, child's play, cinch

In addition to what folks said above, some foreign cities are designated as POEs because they process your immigration stuff in the foreign airport instead of when landing in the US. The ones I know of are Dublin and two in Canada (Vancouver and Toronto, maybe?).

Detroit has been good to us so far but I've heard other people have had trouble. But my fiance has come through five times as a boyfriend and as a fiance and they've given him no trouble. A good question grilling...but he always answered truthfully and calmly and they've waved him on. Detroit is a hub for Northwest.

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Just to add... Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas are also POEs (US Immigration Pre-Clearance). Its great because there is ALOT less hassle plus when you land, you just hit baggage claim and head home which is super. :thumbs:
